Last Friday night 02/29/08, I had the honor of meeting a young man in the US Army. His name is Ryan. It took me a little courage to walk over to him as he was playing pool to thank him for serving our country. I was able to share with him about my soldier friend that was hurt in Iraq. Also how I have been encouraging and supporting him and his family.
I also shared with him about the article in the paper from Margie Boule's column. The article in short told about a young man in the military returning home to Oregon from the war. A man from first class traded places so this young man could ride in first class. The whole plane cheered him as he walked up to first class. This is the true meaning of being an American to support those who are laying their lives on the line for us.
I spoke with Ryan and shook his hand and when we were done talking he gave me a hug and I sat down and bought him a drink. Kudos to all of you serving in our military to give us our freedom.
Remember the troops and send them encouraging word and good wishes.
I love supporting the troops and had and still have someone I was encouraging along with his family. I sent boxes of stuff this past summer to brighten his day. I hadn't heard from him in months and finally found out he was injured. If you can go to his page and show him some love. I will also post a page where I found him. He has post traumatic brain injury. He could really use the support. His pictures are under my photos which are "My Soldier Friend".
He called me finally one day in January. That was the first time that we had spoke on the phone. We were both nearly in tears. God Bless you Seth and your family. I love you.
