In an effort to help us get through the loss of my brother, PJ, the family has adopted Rt. 28 from the Heinz Plant to the 31st Street Bridge. Within the next few months PennDOT will install signs, approaching Heinz on the northbound and Lambro’s on the southbound. The signs will say:
Adopt a Highway
In Memory of Paul “PJ” Shepherd Jr.
In return, we will be cleaning up litter from the sidewalk and the hillsides four times per year.
We invite you to join us in remembering PJ while making a positive impact on the community. We will be meeting on Sunday July 29, 2007 (two days after his 37th Birthday) at the Penn Brewery parking lot on Troy Hill Rd at 9:30 am. Beverages will be available during the clean up and a Pizza lunch will be provided by Ron’s Pizza Palace afterward.
And remember, ESPECIALLY ON RT. 28
Buckle UP & Slow DOWN!
