MY MOM AND I BOTH WORK AT THE AREA MENTAL HOSPITAL. THIS HAPPENED YESTERDAY (MONDAY) WITH MY MOM AND A 79 YEAR OLD PATIENT WITH DEMENTIA AND PYCHOSIS WHO IS USUALLY VERY, VERY DELUSIONAL. THIS IS A CUTE STORY, AND STUFF LIKE THIS HAPPENS ON A REGULAR BASIS WITH THIS PATIENT. IF YOU FIND THIS CUTE, PLEASE REPOST SO OTHERS MAY ENJOY IT ALSO.

A pt is at the door in her merri-walker. She’s upset, cause her water has broken and the triplets are going to be coming out all over the place with the flood of water. What can I do? I ask. Help me give birth to the babies! I say I am not a doctor, but maybe we can find one if we turn around.
I help her turn around, and she dashes to the nursing station to wait for the dr, whom she can name. But alas, he is not there. The staff at the desk warn me she has been doing this all day. I turn to her again, to see her still waiting on me for help. I ask again, what can I do.
She replies, say a prayer from your heart. I said I would say it with her, and I close my eyes and lace my fingers together. She slowly sings her version of the Lord’s Prayer; during which I briefly peek and see that she is looking at me while she sweetly sings. I leave her, saying that I was sure this would help. Later, staff reported that though she remained close to the nursing station, she was quiet and pleasant.
