Now we have a water problem
This is the opinion of the author of this site, take it as you will but please read
It seems to me that when ever we get a handle on things here, there erupts another problem that effects tourism, etc... I'm not laying down for this one.
We heard on the radio that possibly our water was unsafe to drink and dangerous to bath in, I guess that means bathing in the lakes.
Here is the Grand County Report on this.

No one really seems to know what is going on here but according to the EPA norms, we are in trouble, and I'll tell you why!
Natural lakes have a built in filtration system, and without help from us, do just fine. So here we have it, somebody, a greedy one at that, built two additional lakes, four if you count Windy Gap and Willow Creek, to this Eco-System to supply the Eastern Slope with extra water. Uhhhhh wait a minute it's my water, MINE. I shovel it off my deck and driveway, it runs off my roof, and I guess I give it back to you in my toilet, but it's mine. So the State of Colorado and The Federal Government say that they own it. Ok, then if you own all this water then you have a problem. It happened in 1982 when your stinking dam broke and you wiped out Estes Park, killed 4 people and then took no responsibility for the disaster. We lost our business, along with many others, now tell me you still own the water. Ok so if you own the water why is ours bad here in Grand Lake??????
Well I'm telling you right now, whoever owns this water, fix it, and fix it right now. If I own it, you are fired. It seems to me that because of your stupidity, you are even threatening Loveland and beyond.
As to the locals here in Grand Lake, and this isn't going to be pretty, stop spraying your dead trees and cut them down, they're dead. What about red and grey don't you understand? Stop fertilizing, it runs into the lake as phosphorus, and feeds the weeds and algae. Quit dumping your boats holding tanks into the lake, "Who me??" Don't wash your boats with soap, while in this county. Make sure all old homes are up to code, we have a code right?
Stop building houses here until we have the infrastructure to support them. Don't use snowmelt, don't use 2 stroke engines on the lake, and stop selling water to our neighbors.
Is it that hard to keep this wonderful town intact, or are you going to destroy it just for the money? Yeah, I hear ya your just going to destroy it.
If we had a town government that actually worked maybe we could resolve these problems, but alas that may be too much to ask. My suggestion is to remove the dams and pumping systems. Drain Shadow Mountain and Granby Reservoirs and take it back to the days when I was a child and the water was beautiful and those two areas were pastureland. Dissolve your little Big Thompson Water Project, and learn to make a living honestly, and not at our expense. If one person dies from this debacle of yours, mark my word, I will take all responsible parties in front of the Supreme Court, and make sure Justice is served
So my question is: What is wrong with you people?
FIX MY WATER NOW
Considering running for Mayor and nobody wants that
