Emotional politics

I'm sick of people buying into the Progressive spin on politics. They play on emotion. "Don't you want to help poor kids get food?" Don't you want to help battered women get help?" "Don't you want Seniors to have retirement money and health care?" "Don't you want ALL Americans to have medical coverage?" Of course I do! Who doesn't? What I disagree with is that it's the FEDERAL government's responsibility to do it. There are MILLIONS of LOCAL organizations staffed by giving, loving, caring Americans that are providing free health care, vaccines, food pantries, soup kitchens, domestic violence shelters, homeless shelters, and hundreds of other varieties of charity. We don't need the feds to do it. Charity is human nature. When I meet a homeless person, I give 'em a sandwich or a couple of bucks. I've served at food pantries and soup kitchens. I've shaken the hands of people who can't afford the dollar menu. I donate to LOCAL charities. I donate to churches, who give to their communities. The problem is that Americans are becoming more and more lazy. Constantly looking for the easiest way out where they can still be called "good people" while doing the least amount of work. They want other people to give. "I'm too busy". I've seen hundreds of FB and Twitter posts aimed at stirring guilt. "OMG. That's so sad!" So do something about it!! Sharing a post doesn't make you a charitable, compassionate American.
