Paradox of life

The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings but shorter tempers, wider Freeways, but narrower viewpoints. We spend more, but have less, we buy more, but enjoy less. We have bigger houses and smaller families, more conveniences, but less time. We have more degrees but less sense, more knowledge, but less judgment, more experts, yet more problems, more medicine, but less wellness.

We drink too much, smoke too much, spend too recklessly, laugh too little, drive too fast, get too angry, stay up too late, get up too tired, read too little, watch TV too much, and pray too seldom. We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values. We talk too much, love too seldom, and hate too often.

We've learned how to make a living, but not a life. We've added years to life not life to years. We've been all the way to the moon and back, but have trouble crossing the street to meet a new neighbor. We conquered outer space but not inner space. We've done larger things, but not better things.

We've cleaned up the air, but polluted the soul. We've conquered the atom, but not our prejudice. We write more, but learn less. We plan more, but accomplish less. We've learned to rush, but not to wait. We build more computers to hold more information, to produce more copies than ever, but we communicate less and less.

These are the times of fast foods and slow digestion, big men and small character, steep profits and shallow relationships.

These are the days of two incomes but more divorce, fancier houses, but broken homes. These are days of quick trips, disposable diapers, throwaway morality, one night stands, overweight bodies, and pills that do everything from cheer, to quiet, to kill. It is a time when there is much in the showroom window and nothing in the stockroom. A time when technology can bring this letter to you, and a time when you can choose either to share this insight, or to just hit delete...

Remember, to spend some time with your loved ones, because they are not going to be around forever. Remember, say a kind word to someone who looks up to you in awe, because that little person soon will grow up and leave your side.

Remember, to give a warm hug to the one next to you, because that is the only treasure you can give with your heart and it doesn't cost a cent.

Remember, to say, "I love you" to your partner and your loved ones, but most of all mean it. A kiss and an embrace will mend hurt when it comes from deep inside of you.

Remember to hold hands and cherish the moment for someday that person might not be there again. Give time to love, give time to speak! And give time to share the precious thoughts in your mind.

Bad day?

So, on top of my sleepless night, this morning I decided to go to the store to get some breakfast stuff. The store (which is the ONLY store in the vicinity which is wheelchair accessible) was closed! So I figured I might as well get some cash from the atm, and try elsewhere. The atm was broken, and failed to give me my money, but, the automated bank service suggested the transaction went through....?.....So, it was off to the bank, which was about 3 1/2 blocks away...mostly uphill, broken, uneven sidewalks. But I finally made it to the bank (Yay, me!) But wait; as long as I'm at the bank, I might as well address my being locked out of my online account, (my fault) and get that fixed!...right? Sure, why not? I obviously have nothing better to do than wait on the phone with the bank manager in a 3 way call, while going through a plethora of security questions. At least the day hasn't been boring, thank God for the gift of patience! Well, enough about me....how's your day going?

Love is a temporary madness. It erupts like volcanoes, then subsides. And when it subsides, you have to make a decission. You have to work out whether your roots have so entwined together that it is inconceivable that you should ever part. Because this is what love is! Love itself; is what is left over when being "in love" has burnt away. And this is both art, and a fortunate accident. ~Louis De Bernieres~.... Anyway, this is not my quote, but I thought it was so accurate, and worthy of a post, I just wanted to share it.

Life lesson...continued

Today I hung out with the closest person to me. I reminisced, laughed, and took the time to reconnect, recommit, and get reacquainted with them once again. I had forgotten how unique this person was, but I was reminded today as we laughed, joked, sang out loud as though nobody was watching, and got lost in profound thought. It was refreshing, revealing, and much needed. At the end of the day, We agreed to never abandon one another again. Today I hung out with, and enjoyed immensely...... Myself!

Life lesson

Today I learned of a gentleman who recently passed away. He was a taxi driver, and, although I did not know him on a personal level, I have been in his taxi several times. He was always a happy-go-lucky kind of guy, always smiling and joking around. And he, although was simply a taxi driver, went about his business as though he was earning six figures. (There are no insignificant jobs). He treated

his passengers with the utmost respect and dignity, and was simply a class act. He decided he was going to make changes in life for his family, as well as himself. He underwent a gastro-intestinal bypass surgery, which was successful, and was exercising and eating the appropriate foods, and was well on his way to a new and healthier life. I do not know the actual cause of death, but my point is to simply remind you how short life really is. Absolutely no one is promised tomorrow. Live life well, take nothing for granted, and above all else....LOVE!

Boys 2 Men

boys play house, Men build homes. boys shack up, Men get married. boys make babies, Men raise children. boys invent excuses for failure, Men produce strategies for success. boys look for somebody to take care of them, Men look for someone to take care of. boys seek popularity, Men earn respect, by knowing how to give it. boys walk away and quit when things get hard, Men promise to love you through it all.

Don't Quit

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest, if you must, but don't you quit.

Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about,
When he might have won had he stuck it out;
Don't give up though the pace seems slow--
You may succeed with another blow.

Often the goal is nearer than,
It seems to a faint and faltering man,
Often the struggler has given up,
When he might have captured the victor's cup,
And he learned too late when the night slipped down,
How close he was to the golden crown.

Success is failure turned inside out--
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems so far,
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit--
It's when things seem worst that you must not quit.

Who am I?

Here is all you need to know about me... I am about YOU

My purpose is to build, lift, assist, YOU on YOUR path. In helping raise YOU up, I am in turn, raised up... to my highest good... my highest potential... my highest self. Once you are living your life doing what you are meant to do here, the rest will come. Don't you see, it's always about what you GIVE, not what you recieve. Once you trust that you will be taken care of... that you will have all you need and MORE... you have arrived at the next level, and are ready to proceed. What's next ?.... I don't know... but I do know that this journey has chosen YOU.... what will YOU do ?

Birthday party

Big Birthday Celebration . . . I received this invitation that I just had to pass on. *********************************************************** Dear loved ones, As you well know, we are getting closer to my birthday. Every year there is a celebration in my honor, and I think that this year the celebration will be repeated. During this time there are many people shopping for gifts, there are many radio announcements and TV commercials, and in every part of the world everyone is saying that my birthday is getting closer and closer. It is really very nice to know that at least once a year some people think of Me. As you know, the celebration of my birthday began many years ago. At first people seemed to understand and be thankful for all that I did for them, but in these times no one seems to know the reason for the celebration. Family and friends get together and have a lot of fun, but they don't know the meaning of the celebration. I remember that last year there was a great feast in my honor. The dinner table was full of delicious foods , pastries, fruits, assorted nuts and chocolates. The decorations were exquisite, and there were many, many beautifully wrapped gifts. But, I wasn't invited. I was the guest of honor, and they didn't remember to send Me an invitation. The party was for Me, but when that great day came, I was left outside; they closed the door in my face. And . . . I wanted to be with them and share their table. Truthfully, that didn't surprise Me because in the last few years all have closed their doors to Me. Since I wasn't invited, I decided to enter the party without making any noise. I went in and stood in a corner. They were all drinking, and there were some who were drunk and telling jokes and laughing at everything, having a grand ol' time. To top it all, this big fat man all dressed in red wearing a long white beard entered the room yelling, "Ho, ho, ho!" He seemed drunk as he sat on the sofa, and all the children ran to him screaming, "Santa Claus, Santa Claus", as if the part y were in his honor. At midnight all the people began to hug each other. I extended my arms waiting for someone to hug Me, but no one did! Then they all began to share gifts. They opened them one by one with great expectation. When all had been opened, I looked to see if maybe there was one for Me. After all, how would you feel if on your birthday everybody shared gifts and you didn't get a one? I then understood that I was unwanted at that party and quietly left. Every year it gets worse. People only remember the eating, the drinking, the gifts, the parties, and nobody remembers Me. I would like it if this Christmas you would allow Me to enter into your life. I would like it if you would recognize the fact that almost two thousand years ago I came to this world to give my life for you, on the cross, to save you. Today, my only desire is that you believe this with all your heart. I want to share something further with you. As many didn't invite Me to their party, I will have my own celebration, a grandiose party that no one has ever imagined. I'm still making the final arrangements. Today I am sending out many invitations, and there is one for you. I want to know if you wish to attend, and I will make a reservation for you and write your name with golden letters in my great guest book.. Only those on my guest list will be invited to the party; t hose who don't respond to the invitation will be left outside. Be prepared so that when all is ready you can be part of my great party. See you soon! I love you, Jesus P.S. Please share this message with your loved ones before CHRISTmas!
