My niece Morgan had a softball game and I couldn't make the one earlier in the week. My brother was out of town and couldn't make it so I went.
I am quiting smoking and it was good to get out of the house to begin with. It was sooo nice out today. So I got there and her mom had left for a bit and it was right after she got hurt so I had to go see her and she was still upset a little (she's fine just a bruised wrist - minor swelling on a slide).
I never really thought I had a big effect on her but being there and seeing if she needed anything (they had ice and water), I got to be there for her and she thanked me. Sometimes I wonder if they know how much I love her. It is the encouraging words or the mere presence over and over that does it.
Either I got a hug after the game too ;)
