I had surgery last Friday, 8.17.07, to have my gallbladder removed. I was in rough shape for about 36 hours or so afterwards but I got up and out of the house Sunday for about 5 hours with the help of my mother. She drove me to Walmart and the grocery store so that I could get a few things.
I got into Walmart and took a look at the motorized carts and said to myself "what the heck" and I hopped on one and away I went. It helped a great deal but I tell ya, it's hard to get through some of those isles with that thing! I didn't run over anyone either...although there were a few people I would have liked have to run over. Some people are so rude! I kept my cool...I was in no rush.
It's now Wednesday and I'm still feeling a bit sore but all in all I'd have to say things are going well in the recovery department. My biggest problem now is finding things that I can do to occupy my free time while I'm at home. I won't be able to see my surgeon until 08.31.07 so I have 'bout a week and a half left of time to fill...hmmm...maybe I should read some of those mega-novels that I've bought over the years! :)
