I went to the store and saw it on the shelf
Thinking all the time, I need this for myself
The clerk came along and made his sale pitch
You would have thought, he was thinking I was rich
Well I told him what I was going to buy
And back home with it I would quickly fly
Unpacked all the pieces, put it together and plugged it in
Now my days without sleep were about to begin
I figured out a name that no one had
Getting the name I wanted made me glad
Then into the rooms I went, knowing not what to expect
But my personal matters I vowed to protect
Into the chat rooms I quickly then fell
How this could scare some people I could surely tell
People started calling by the name that I chose
Most of the first ones I still remember those
Now we chatted and chatted about topics galore
Not knowing why but getting our views across for sure
Then came the world of voice as it opened to me
As in amazement people on the other end would be
As talking back and forth messages we did send
Longer and longer hours through the night we did spend
They came to my screen from all walks of life
Boys, girls, men, women, husbands and wife
I tracked the ones I met, trying to cover all states
The times I talked to each and even the date
Now the names I saw and some were strange
Using every possible combination in range
Some of the names would make you smile
But the people pleasant, they would chat for awhile
Remember the names of Collector, Guardian and Angel too
Flowers were named but no sweet smells for you
A Krystal Rose, Jasmine, lilies, and lilacs galore
You had dogs, frogs, occupations and a whole lot more
Sometimes the arguments got on my nerves
A calmer place to chill everyone does deserve
Well I talked to many and some I called friend
Hoping this we would stay til the very end
Now my eyes are heavy and I am all chatted out
Making it through, at the beginning having some doubt
Well I close all my programs and click then on start
As off to bed I will soon dart
I shut down my computer and put it on standby
In my heart I missed my friends, but didn't know why
Then the screen went blank and all were gone
My first time on the internet was finally done
But one thing for sure I knew was a true fact
That come hell or high water I would be back
I knew as I quietly walked off to bed
The internet junkie seed was planted in my head
Now there is but one thing left I need to know
Please tell me where the last four days did go
