I've been listening to everyone talking about the big game tomorrow, and it's funny how so many people think the Colts don't have a chance. Granted, the Bears are the best team in the NFC and deserve to be at the Super Bowl. Maybe I feel like Dennis Green when he lost his mind after the Bears came back to beat the Cardinals. "If you're gonna crown their ass before the game is over, then do it!!!".
But for now, the game hasn't been yet. And I tried my best to keep it neutral and keep up good sportsmanship, but among the rabid Bears fans I've ran across (especially when I had to go to Chicago and it's suburb towns yesterday LOL), the sore-loser bunch of Patriot fans I've met, and the whole gambit of naysayers, I'm gettin' tired of being a quiet Colts fan.
Guess it's time to show my colors. BLUE AND WHITE!!! I've watched my Colts ever since they came to Indianapolis in 1985. I remember the 1997 AFC Championship game when we were a miracle Hail Mary play away from the big dance. I was devestated over the gut wrenching losses to New England, NY Jets, and Pittsburgh over the last 6 playoffs. But I was still a good sportsman and gave the winning team props. But now it's time to gloat.
We're going against the 2nd best defense in the NFL after beating the best defense in yardage (Ravens) and the best defense in scoring (Patriots). We're going against the best special teams after beating the 2nd best special teams (Patriots) and 6th best special teams (Kansas City). We have the 2nd best offense this season, but over the past decade, we have put up the best stats. Now it's time to put those stats up where it really counts.
Our defense has played inspired ball, and now going against a good (NOT GREAT) offense, I feel that they will hold it down. And it's time that the Colts put up the numbers and yards we're used to. So I'm going out on a limb and predicting that the game won't be as close as most people say it will be. And it definately won't be won by Da Bears!!! Colts win big 44-13. If I'm wrong, I'll take my lumps like I'm supposed to. But it's time that Colts fan kick it up a notch like the Bears fans have done. GO COLTS!!! :)
