Using
LilyPond and a score I have of
Benjamin Frankel's 6th symphony (1969) (copy given me by a family member) to practice LilyPond and perhaps create an easier-to-read score (more typeset-published-etc. looking, whereas the published score is, I think, a very "clean" photocopy of the manuscript. A few words I can't make out here and there, but otherwise the problems in conversion from paper to computer are more subtle :)
(The score I have of a piano work by Sorabji is, btw, a photocopy of a microfilm made of a manuscript that was
to begin with not easy to read- the copying process didn't make it noticeably harder, but the difficulties include many questions for editing even including interpretation of individual notes, "reconciliation" of rhythms (the left hand has this, the right hand has that, the pedal - in his organ works - has that... and in his orchestral works... never mind...) - few of his are, I gather - but that's by way of contrast.)
