There is this place within us all,
That is capable of such love and happiness.
For some, it is a dark and lonely place,
Where the light never shines.
For others, it is such a bright place,
Blinding the soul with such intensity.
Those who only know the darkness,
Miss out on more than they can ever know.
This I know, for I was one of those who dwelt in the dark,
Missing out on what the light has to offer.
No more that dark place,
Banished once and for all.
The light is now all that I see,
Burning my soul with such passion.
For when she came into my life,
Just being my friend, a beam of light cut through the darkness.
Now that dark place burns ever so bright,
With a love and friendship that I never thought could be mine.
The only thing that I want her to know,
That she has brought my soul to life with her love for me.
All that I am now, the happiness and joy of living,
Has all come from the first little beam of light.
