Hello Everyone
.
I hope that you are doing well today. It's been some years now since I've watched anything on Entertainment Tonight. But I remember one time Leonard Maltin showed a movie trailer with the legendary Babe Ruth coming into a
classroom and telling kids it was time to play baseball.
.
There is an anime coming out called Big Wind Up. It will be released by Funimation Entertainment and the manga creator is Asa Higuchi, plus the director is Tstomu Mizushima. This is not the first time that I've seen baseball being
covered by anime. The Japanese people have for a very long time had amfascination with baseball. ADV Film released an anime series called, Princess Nine - a story about a girls baseball team. I've seen baseball episodes in many
anime series like Maison Ikkoku (Note: Chachamaru was the name of the baseball
team in Maison Ikkoku.), Ultra Manic, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Yumeria. Even in the World Encyclopedia of Comics, edited by Maurice Horn, it shows on page 433 an art page of baseball from Japan called Kyojin No Hoshi
("The Star of the Giants") writen by Ikki Kajiwara and illustrated by Noboro Kawasaki. It first showed up in the May issue of Shonen magazine way back in 1966. The comic strip was made into a 19 book series that has sold over 5 million copies plus an animated series as well as a stage play. Wow! Talk
about doing a lot here people! Here are some links to anime that cover baseballin its opening theme.

In the animated movie called The Girl Who Leapt Though Time, show characters practice baseball in it. That just skims the surface about the relationship between anime and baseball. But then again, maybe another person would like to
try and cover it better. I know I left room open to do that.
.
For myself, I did play little league baseball as a kid for the Duke baseball team. In 1972 (or was it 1973), the little Duke baseball team played 20 games without losing any. Now, if you are wondering what position I played - it was benchwarmer. I really started playing little league far too late. But I did
meet some wonderful people on the other teams. I was a wild storyteller. That made kids on the other team laugh with joy. So it was not all that bad. I had
also gotten the title 'Duke History.' I used that title one time in an
introduction in high school for a school talent show as a freshman. The upper classmen seemed to enjoy it.

Last night as I was at Woodleaf Lanes, I was singing the song "Take Me Out To Ball Field."
.
Over this upcoming weekend, I will be working on the display for the
NC Rowan County Anime Group. It will be very hard work picking out the photos to use in the display and also writing up information for us to use in the display. Do any members in the NC Rowan County Anime Group want to help?
.
Matthew Plummer, I did find your link on Youtube! So I am passing it along to everyone so they can check out your outstanding job of talking about anime.
