black altar cloth-only used for alter
athame-black handled knife (must be black to draw everything in itself) (held in projecting hand mostly, except for banishing)
nocturnal portal-round type of scrying tool that must be black (IE: magick mirror one side of the glass is painted black
ON EACH SIDE OF THE NOCTURNAL PORTAL:
black taper candle-(silver for a full moon celebration)in front of the portal place a censer (IE: incense holder)
FARTHER BEHIND THE TAPERS:
God and Goddess images or symbols
(God to the right Goddess to the left)
ALSO NEEDED PERMANANT:
special black outfit-used only for ritual
TEMPORARY TOOLS
FOR CALLING AIR:
stick of incense-place to the EAST edge of the altar(sandalwood or lavender)
FOR CALLING FIRE:
red candle-place to the SOUTH of the altar-(taper or votive)
FOR CALLING WATER: simple cup of water-place to the WEST of the altar
FOR CALLING EARTH:
small bit of salt-place to the NORTH of the altar- place 3 or 4 pinches on a 2 inch square of shopping bag or on a green or brown ceramic dish.
