By request, I will write a new blog with some irreverent humor and insight, with my psychobabble brand of eloquent prose. In other words, I'm gonna talk shit and make it sound all smart and stuff. :P
I have a friend on here that I talk to very often, and we got into a discussion about judging a "book by it's cover", and how no matter how many times we say it as a cliche' warning, how a lot of us still do judge how someone is, simply on how they look on the outside.
For example, being a black man, I "have" to be a thug, and I "have" to speak improper english, and I "have" to be well-endowed (well, that one is true :P). But with all that said, that is only assumptions on who I am without even taking the time to get to know me. Then to actually shock, surprise, or even alienate people when I don't "act" like these assumptions. God forbid that I'm my own person, and march to the beat of my own drum, not the drum beat provided by whatever the hot hip-hop song is for the day.
And my friend (who is a fuckin' hottie!!! by the way :P), has piercings and tattoos. And many people judge her as being some devil-worshiping, goth-like cult vixen who drinks blood and looks for innocent souls to soil and sullen. If not that, she's some kinky sex fetishist who wants it every which way but loose, and will show you the scariest/wildest sexual adventure you will ever experience.....IF YOU DARE!!!! BWAHAHAHAAHAAHAA!!
But when you actually take the time to talk to her and get to know her, you'll realize that she is much more than stainless steel trinkets and ink. She's got a brain, and knows how to use it!!! And is a true sweetheart. "But hey, she's got all those piercings and tats?!? Oh she must be some poser slut craving attention.)
Trust me people, she doesn't need any tattoos or piercings to get attention. PLEASE BELIEVE!! LOL. And it's sad that we get in our own way when actually taking time to know someone. All because they look or sound a certain way. Or have certain things. And why? Because most of us want to believe that all the great people come inside great physical packages? Or is it we still think that physically attractive people are good people by default?
Either way, a lot of people would let a Mitt Romney or a Hillary Clinton, or a Barack Obama in their house because they "look" trustworthy. Even though they could be the most sociologically and mentally disturbed person ever born. However, a black man with a pierced lip, or a woman with tattoos, you got us totally figured out.....YEAH RIGHT!!!
But hey, this is just my opinion.....my word ain't law....
