Okay I'm at it again. Recently I bought a wireless headset from freetalk. Oh my god this thing is awesome! I can't believe how well this thing works. There's just nothing in the world like it. Not only is the sound quality superior, but it is such a lifesaver for the fact that it is so easy to use and did exactly what I expected. If you ever wanted or needed a reason to be able to use your computer without using your hands this is exactly what you need!
Today while reading the news I noticed Apple's IPAD was all over the headlines. I even watched a video of a gentleman demonstrating the IPAD. Basically the IPAD is just a large iPod. The only thing that you can plug into the IPAD is a camera. There are no USB ports for a microphone or a web cam and the only keyboard you have is an onscreen keyboard which could be very tedious in an Airport with trying to hold the IPAD and type at the same time. Add apple and thinking a little further down the road they would've included a USB Port for such a device as the freetalk headset. Why, you ask? Well, simply because, for instance this entire blog was spoken to my computer and a typed it for me!
That's right, my new freetalk had set in combination with windows speech recognition I was able to dictate this entire article with little to no mistakes after teaching the computer to heed to the sound of my voice.
Yet so I am too lazy to type a blog. I kind of like the idea of not having to even touch my keyboard and still be able to get my message across. This headset is just amazing! Charges up in 2 hours, folds into a neat little case and I can even go outside and listen to the stream while talking on the phone, listening to music, and enjoying the spring weather outside.
With the power of speech recognition I now have the ability to be out on the deck and tell my computer play the next song, turn down the volume, or answer the phone. The next feat I have in mind is to actually copy this entire text, open fubar in Firefox and paste this entire thing into a blog.
