There is a strangeness to current political events, Even the President's name is numinous in these circumstances ~ Trump. The cards of the Major Arcana in Tarot are called "atouts" or "trumps," and, idiomatically, as a verb, it means "to best" or "top" a person or their actions. The first card of the Tarot ~ Le Fou or The Fool ~ is obviously the correlative card, and it is ironically unnumbered, considering Donald Trump is so fond of numbers. Classically, The Fool's primary estoeric meaning is Change ~ a change of driection facing the unknown. Inexperience and naievete are embraced in this card. It speaks of an obliviousness to the inherent perils as well as to being a breath of fresh air. It conjurees an image of an unprotected soul and heart. The rest of the Tarot are exprssins of the aspects and development of this everyman soul on the path of life. Tarot is allegorical, but allegory is merely a literay depiction of a perspective of life.

Yet another archetype is also becoming apparent, and that is the Jungian Shadow phenomenon. The Fool does not fit that phenomenon by any stretch of the imagination since he is an innocent, and the Shadow is anything but. That atout is more likely to be, in my opinion, Le Diable, The Devil. This also would be, for those inclined to believe that we actually are in the "end days" as prophesized in Revelation, and this archetype is supposedly also the Anti-Christ. I don't yet see precisely who that would be, although I am sure some would say it is Obama as easily as others would say it is Trump, which is what the Shadow (from the Collective Unconscious) would do. It is possible that this archetype is still in its hiding place as the stage for it is being set, if there even is one, which time will tell. These are very interesting times.

The Shadow is as much Self as anything can be, but certainly not Self itself. It is what the Self projects as being something else, other, not it, as much as it possibly can because it cannot acknowledge its failings, disappointments in itself, its sins, its vulnerabilities, weaknesses, imperfections, nor forgive even the forgiveable. The Shadow is that which in the Human Psyche rejects itself and manifests all the pathologies that kind of dysfunction brings on. It masquerades as anything but the Self, yet is really only the Self that cannot see itself as a death wish spreading its doom like a virus over anything and everything it can infect. There is very little difference between religious fanaticism and the ordinary bully or thug; and as a result, no matter how exalted the fanatic makes his cause, he is ultimately only a force of destruction that offers only that as a contribution to humanity. That is merely a reflection of how much more repulsive his philosophy is. The ordinary bully is just a self-hating coward; the fanatic is the same thing to the extreme since he exalts his pathology to the level of sanctity, as though he can transform his grotesqueness into something sacred vis-a-vis a righteous disgust of everything that doesn't meet his own image of what is The Ideal, which secretly he believes he knows better than anyone since he hallucinates himself into some state he then thinks is communion with the divine. It is sick, but it is common. Far more common than we would like to admit. People do that all the time. The problem is that when this plays out on the world stage, you get massive misery ~ the Horsemen, the Apocolypse, the whole curse of Pandora's box.

Trump is another archetype ~ the scapegoat, and beware of that since nothing damns you more than attacking the scapegoat. You can call that karma, but it is really nothing more than neurosis. I really think that Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer need to retire because there is nothing worse than peacelovedove that turns out to be fuckyouassholewhoeveryouareifyoudon'tthinklikeidothatanyonewhodoesn'tseeitmywayisevilorjuststupid. I have no use for that mentality. It is pure agitprop, and not worth dignifying beyond that designation.

In my own philosophy, none of it matters more than you allow it to matter. I think that is now a new Mothy motto, and I suggest that you all consider it to be a motto of your own since I believe it will save you a lot of work and grief. In my world, which in contrary to some recommendations, I prefer to take as I see it, and the ticket through the thicket is to keep your eyes open and know your own failings so you can discover your saving compensations ~ or just like Leonardo DiVinci said, "Oh miseri mortali, aprite li ochi" ~ Oh miserable humans, open your eyes: Just look. And See. It is all about your being who you would admire, not admiring something you think you cannot be. Grow up and learn that love isn't about sacred cows and some other. It is about finding your own depth of your own forgiveness, love, sacrifice, BEING. And don't judge at your own level of misunderstanding and ignorance. Allow room for your lack of understanding and judgement, and ~ I can't stress this enough ~ don't fee the trolls, but don't lack in love for them since, as it was said, be mindful to entertain strangers since thereby some entertain angels unawares. Even "enemies" can be friends if things fall right.

I was chatting with my good friend phillip about Saul Paul Sirag's mathematical proof of Consciousness this morning.  I read what I could of the proof in Jeffrey Mishlove's encyclopedia called The Roots of Consciousness.  That heavily-illustrated book arose from Mishlove's PBS television series years ago (circa 1988), which was called Thinking Allowed.  At the time of its publication, he was the only person in the country with a Ph.D in Parapsychology, which he received from Berekley.  He probably still is.

The proof involves calculous, string theory, and hyper-space geometry.  I am not a gifted mathematician, but I survived integral and derivitive calculus and non_Euclidean geometry in college; and I studied Einstein's Special Relativity Theory as part of the non-Euclidean geometry, since you had to deny Euclid's Fifth Postulate in order to have parallel lines meet in "infinity," which can only occur in Einsteinian curved space....Anyway.  Sirag's proof is very cool, and a very nifty depiction of what Consciousness "looks like" mathematically.  Mathematics is about capturing appearances and suggesting that Truth, but it knows that there is a difference between a description and the thing itself, which is not merely mathematical.  That is what Physics is about ~ the math and the more.

The problem is that the "more," in any kind of language ~ mathematical or lingusitic ~ still is more than the language can do more than merely evoke.  The best teachers are those that teach you that ~ that it is up to you to receive that feeling to learn for yourself.  I can't help but get a tad political about this, since I have been a teacher, and I believe that teachers should not be held accountable for those students who couldn't give a shit if they learn anything or not.  It is not a teacher's business to solve a student's pathologies.  The teacher can only offer and encourage.  Just saying.

So, just as in particle physics, the act of observing an experiment alters the experiment, so does language alter a person's experience from the full flesh of experience to a mere experience of the mind.  That may evoke something in someone receptive, but it is never the thing itself.  Unless, of course it is only about itself, like so much modern art strove to be.  LOL.

To varying degrees, both on and off line, we move in and out of these various "dimensions" ~ the dimension of the mere mind, the multi-dimension of total experience, and whatever is in between that suffers from one or another distraction that renders it less than "total."

I think it is really difficult to see the "real stuff" out of mathematics.  Even though it can pin down the wigglies in a way, they are still wiggly and math isn't.  Neither are words.  Even with the tricky techniques they both have just aren't IT.

If you are looking for Truth, you can figure it is probably a lot more than any of this.  And if you aren't, don't expect to get any education, and that will be your doing, not your teacher's.  You can tell that to your kids, too.
