(Sports Network) - Monta Ellis has been a valuable piece to the Golden State Warriors this season and is trying to help his team end a three-year playoff drought. Ellis and the Warriors will continue their pursuit to the postseason tonight at home versus the Minnesota Timberwolves. Ellis recorded a 39-point night in Fridays 123-120 overtime victory against the Orlando Magic at Oracle Arena and sank 7-of-9 from long range for the Warriors, who buried a franchise-record 21 three-pointers. Golden State went 21-of-35 from beyond the arc and erased a 21-point deficit in the first half. It was just one of those nights where we had it going, Ellis said. We took the opportunity they gave us and none were forced. We just took the opportunity and like I said, it was going down for us. Ellis has scored 20 or more points in 32 of his previous 41 contests and has also hit the 30-point mark 18 times this season. He is one of only five players averaging at least 20.0 points and 5.0 assists, joining Derrick Rose, LeBron James, Russell Westbrook and Deron Williams. Dorell Wright had a busy night with the Magic and netted 32 points, hitting eight of his 11 shots from downtown. Golden State, which was fresh off a 2-5 road trip, won for the third time in 10 tries and improved to 20-13 in Oakland this season. The Warriors are six games off the eighth and final postseason spot in the West and havent been to the playoffs since 2006-07. The Timberwolves will begin a three-game road trip tonight against the Warriors, Jazz and Lakers, and are only 5-27 outside the Twin Cities this season. They have won two in a row since a three-game slide and closed out a three-game homestand with Fridays 122-101 triumph over Utah. Kevin Love extended his record double-double streak to 53 games with 24 points and 12 rebounds. Love has the NBA record for most consecutive double-doubles in the post-merger era, passing Moses Malone with No. 52 in a win over Indiana on Wednesday. Malone recorded 51 straight double-doubles from December 29, 1978 to October 12, 1979 when he was with Houston. Elvin Hayes ripped off 55 double-doubles in a row in 1973-74. Michael Beasley added 23 points in the win over the Jazz. Once we started to get easy looks at the basket ... we just got up. Ten points went to 12, 12 went to 14 and so on, said Love. From there, there was no looking back. Darko Milicic had 14 points for the Timberwolves. Golden State leads the 2010-11 series with Minnesota, 2-1, and has won 12 of the past 16 matchups in this series. The Wolves are only 4-10 in their previous 14 visits to the bay area. cheap wholesale nfl jerseys .
