so many years writing and having made other commitments...my visual art has been allowed to languish-gone into hibernation...
but this past week has seen a re-awakening within me-inspiration and yearnings have rekindled the desires to create...to let loose that which had been welling up for much longer than i'd expected or planned.
the written project i've been commited to seeing through has been about a year or two longer than i'd hoped but, not being familiar with writing a book of 200 pages, i had no idea the timeline required, in particular because of realities such as-hmmm...a job, etc.
and still the book is not done-rewrites due to delays by the publisher have resulted in an(other) extension...till september this year with it anticipated to be published for next Spring...
but fuck it-i need to let loose that which gives me life and thus....the visual art has been awakened inside of me and is seeking a way out and onto paper
art is just an extension of me...another facet of my life. if life be love and love be life then art is love and life externalised. the intimacies of one's soul and one's heart are opened up through this extended part of one's psyche...it is passion and emotion tamed sufficiently to be wrested from the deep recesses of one's bloodline....for me i love and i live and the art of both is contained and exuded through my creative spirit.
love inspires and gives reason for existence, and art is a manifestation of this very love, and thus, of life.
my love is my life...without love there is no life, and without life there is no art.
(now-if i can just get the rust out!)
