April Poem-A-Day Challenge
Today's prompt:
"write an apology poem. You can apologize for ending a relationship, breaking a chair, or maybe you can even apologize for not being apologetic"
This one was very difficult for me and a lot more personal than I'm usually comfortable with, but here it is
An open letter to my late father
For all of the misunderstandings
and missteps along the way.
For all of the disagreements
turned into an angry fray.
For all of the lost perspective
and the lack of empathy.
For all of the possibilities
that just never came to be.
For the part I played in all of these
that I didn't realize.
For all of this and more
I now humbly apologize.
