So, a few months ago (like four to six) a friend of a friend trained up for a MMA event. My friend asked me to help him train, and i did... however he wouldn't listen to anything I taught him or should i say "tried" to teach him. I stopped offering my assistance and distanced myself from him (I did however find out that he threw my name at the promoter to get himself in and a little more "respect". the promoter is an old friend of mine.). Before i left i sat down with him and his training group and told him exactly how he was going to lose the fight. the fight went down pretty much exactly as i predicted, the only detail i got wrong was how long the fight lasted, he did last longer than i thought.
Fast forward to this weekend, his group came to me and is asking for help again. they have told me that this time they will listen and that they now know they can not do this without "expert" or experienced help. So I'm gonna dust off the equipment and give it another go. I hope this time will have a different result, not only in the ring, but also in the training. Maybe he will learn something this time.
anyways, I will atleast have an oportunity to teach these guys and to "help" get myself back into shape. If I feel the training is going really well, maybe, just maybe, I will step into the ring myself (probably not, but who knows). I do think i can coach another winner though, and that to me is just as good.
