What can be said about the power of prayer? If you are a believer, then you already know the power of prayer. Those of you who don’t believe, I will never be able to change your mind, but really don’t know that if I don’t at least try. Prayer is something more, on the spiritual level you call on the power of God, and ask all His people and angels to pray for you and ask God to help whatever you are praying for. In the spiritual world this power is for real, ancient peoples believed in its power, even our Native Americans did. They even believed in the spirits, as most of us do, some of us call them angels. Even if one does not believe, the power of the mind to hold that belief has been proven to be extra ordinary, how much more so for those believers in God? Prayer to believers is very powerful. We believe that where ever two or three are gathered in the name of God, then God is there also. Studies have also been documented that with pray, people get better faster and miracles, that is to believers, unexplained to the non-believers, occur at a higher rate.
Belief is an awesome thing. Belief is taking something that can’t be seen, touched or tasted for fact. Many have tried to argue my faith on this point, but the same thing could be said of Paris and the Eiffel Tower. Most have never been there, but that does not mean that it does not exist, for others have seen and spread the word. Well, be you Hebrew, Christian, Muslim or whatever, our faith is passed on in the very same way. No we have not seen it, but it comes written from others that have, even those that do not believe in our faith. Faith is exactly what the meaning denotes to believe in something without experiencing it, and prayer is an extension, a life force actually of that faith. It is a real and tangible power, that can help ease pain, heal people, calm, strengthen and many other things and is definitely a force to be reckoned with, for it rids all our fears, strengthens our weakness, heals our wounds, changes hate into love, all on faith. But faith alone is just not good enough. Christian bible says that faith without works is dead. What this means is that not only do we have to have faith, but have to use our faith for others, to help other. Charity helping and yes, even prayers for others and there well being or needs. Yet what can prayer be without our fellow believers and the angels and saints in heaven? Who can have more power of prayer than those already with God?
Now speaking of angels, we believe that they are the first ones of creation that God created and their purpose to praise God all the time, but some rebelled thinking they were better than God. This is how good and evil are into existence because evil is just denying God and God’s law. We are taught that there are angels all around us, the best example I have ever seen is the movie City of Angels. We have them guarding us at all times, our guardian angels, but since we have free will, we deny them or don’ t listen to them, as we do the same to God, but that does not stop them from being there. Sometimes they appear as human, for I have heard a tale of a person I know who had this person come up to her, who she never saw before, and said that she would be okay. She turned for a second and turned back and the lady was gone. Angels can also come in the human form, such as in the movie “Pay it forward” doing random acts of kindness just because. Helping people that need help, without letting them know and without ever expecting something in return. Angels here on earth that I have seen are Mother Teresa and, Martin Luther King Jr. are just some examples of them. You may never know the might be one sitting next to you on a bus, or walking behind you in the street. Just like that one movie where if you turn right instead of going left, your life changes forever (sorry, late at night and can’t remember). They, as well as people, are put into our lives for a reason, most time we never know the reason; most times we never ask or ask what we can do for these blessings.
There are many things that I can say here and many examples I could use. Just look at my CAA blogs, these are people, some that don’t even know me or my ”angels” asking for prayers for themselves or others, and even praying for people they don’t even know, but doing it just the same (my volunteer angels). Most of these prayers have already come true. But Doc, one might say, you have one or two that may have died, how can you say that the prayers were answered. All I can say is silly human, it is all in God’s will that prayers are answered and they are always answered. It might be yes, it might be no, it might be wait, depending on what is needed. Did your parents give you everything you wanted in life? No?! Then why should our beloved parent in heaven be any different? God knows what we need at all times and at times what we want is not what we actually need. For example, you win a million dollars, you always say that you would give some to charity and this and that, but honestly, how many people would actually blow most of it on themselves? Ok, off soap box and back to original topic (sorry I do that sometimes, can’t help myself).
Prayers are really individual conversations with God; it doesn’t have to be in a special order or form. It brings good will to you and others, as a smile is contagious, so is prayer. Angels are extensions of God’s love and grace, either the heavenly type or the earthly type, they all do His will for others. We are all brothers and sisters in this world, and each life is connected to another, so all lives are interwoven with each other, not six degrees of separation, but one degree inseperation, always one life sending waves down the threads of lives as another, and prayers and angels are the way that communications is interchanged among us.
