Sometimes in the midst of a storm,
I feel so all alone,
the waves are high, the ocean wide
and the thunder and lightning rolls.
I toss and turn on the stormy sea,
feeling lost and adrift,
looking for some peace of mind
upon this stormy ship.
I cry out for help from friends,
as they stand upon the shore,
but they seem as though they cannot hear me,
above the ocean's roar.
In desperation I cry out,
and fall down to my knees,
hands stretched upward, towards the clouds,
"Jesus, help me please!"
Then just like that the storm grows calm,
the waves no longer toss,
the sun comes out, the skies turn blue
and across the water Jesus walks.
To find me on my sinking ship,
tossed roughly by life's storm,
He takes my hand and leads me to,
the safety of the shore.
I watch in awe as He tames
the rage inside of me,
giving peace where once was none,
from that bondage set me free.
"Wait," I cry, "How much do I owe?,
for bringing you to my side?"
"Not one thing,"He answers me,
"Only my name never deny"
"Don't be ashamed that you know Me,
and walk My narrow path,
walk in the love that I have shown you,
instead of hate and wrath.
"And when someone scorns my name,
and claims I was not the One,
simply tell them how you saw,
Me tame your raging storm.
Tell them how I rescued you,
from the prison you had made,
and did it as a walking king,
not one left in the grave.
"Tell them that I love them still,
though they know not me,
and pray for those who have not heard,
that the truth they'll find in Me.
"And forget not to help those enslaved,
like you yourself once were,
and daily remember to stregthen yourself,
by the reading of God's word"
I nodded in acceptance,
and wept as He walked away,
"Wait, how can I find you again,
if another battle comes my way?'
"My child, I'm never far from you,
I know your every step,
for I am the man who died for your sins,
before we ever met."
"I saw you in your lowest times,
and held you when you fell,
watched you when you had victory,
and cheered for you as well.
There is not a thing you will ever do,
that can keep you from my love,
for with my love I pardoned you,
on a cross with 3 rusty nails"
