I'm cleaning up the apartment once again.
Not that it's really messy but it gives me something
to do.
Anyways, I like to have some tunes while doing the boring housework. I threw on a mix cd I have (older house music and acid). Anyways, the song "Pacific" comes on from 808 State comes on. I personally love the haunting sound of a saxophone and this song captures it perfectly.
The bass line is thumping, the arpeggio's flawless, the of course the sax. Hehe I said Sax. Anyways, it's one of these songs that makes me sigh. I hearken back to better times. But now is now....
Another tune that I used to really dig is by "This Ain't Chicago-Ride The Rhythm".
909 drum machine, check!,gurgling and trippy 303's, check!,samples saying "Ride the rhythm, ride the floor, ride till you can't ride no more" and the occasional "This ain't Chicago".
It's one of those songs that makes me want jump up and get down...really!
Plus the sample of someone yelling "ACID!" makes me tingle. Goosebumps baby!

I had a good conversation last night with a friend of mine. He brought up some valid points :
"Have confidence in yourself and you'll get women
its all its about confidence is a mans pretty feathers or you can just be an asshole and get younger chicks but the key is be yourself
have confidence kinda like a job interview".
or
"the key with humans is that you are what you perspire, everyone is constantly subconsciously measuring you,so the less bs you spill, the less bs you have to keep on spilling".
I should also say that he was, ummm, indulging in some drink so that might explain things.
In any event, I came away with the point of that confidence means everything. I lack confidence. I know this, and it's not like a switch and claim...
"Confidence boosters are online and working at full capacity". :)
So I'm trying to improve the little things about me, make myself feel better and we'll see what happens.

On a lighter note yesterday I purchased a new Microsoft ComfortCurve 2000 keyboard. Wow, what a difference from my old generic keyboard. The keys are alot like laptop keys,ie,low set or as per Microsoft's marketing dept "Ultra-Thin Profile Keys,The notebook-like, sleek design of these keys feels and looks great."
I'd have to agree. Of course getting used to the new shape and layout will take time but isn't that like with everything?

Last night I downloaded a awesome to the max mp3.
It's by Dj - James T.Cotton - Acid Mix 2005. I don't know what the name of the song is called...but there's one track that has such a bubbly acidy sound to it. The bass line is gurgling, the occasional hand claps, truly a rump shaking song. Highly recommended.
Another song I've become quite fond of is called "The sun can't compare" by Mr.White. Goto my stash and give it a listen...it's just that good!
I sometimes get email from a nightclub in NYC called the SHELTER. I personally haven't been at this place but I did attend the old NASA nights.
Anyways, they play deep soulful house music. From what I've read about the place...it has no fashionista's working the door, draconian rules or regulations. Come how you are, dressed however you are, leave the drama home. The point is too dance. And dance is what I love to do. Well I don't really dance. More of a stand there and sway thing. But the intent is there.
The thing is ( or are), I don't want to fall into the whole nightclub scene again. I used to be such a whore for going out. And frankly, I'm lazy...a trip to NYC is a ultra rare thing for me.
So I download and listen. Listen and dance,in the comfort and safety of my apartment...much to the dismay of my cat's and neighbors. :)

There's more, isn't that always the case? But I'm tired and there's busy work to be done.
I shall continue my screed tonight. Oh lucky you!
