An Historic Day

They said that we were nothing... No more than sheep and cattle... They stole us and sold us on blocks in the center of town... Chained us and beat us while others looked on... They raped us, molested our babies and belittle our men... They tried to steal our identity.... Crush the freedom we held within... Put the laws on our heels when they told us we were free... Put strange fruit upons limbs of trees that made poor momma weep... Had us afraid to sleep when a full moon was in the horizon.... The names have changed but our Spirits are still the same... We walked on water and had visions of the Promise Land... Moses led the slaves out of Egypt... We've forgetten it was in Africa that the Red Sea did part... Our Garden of Eden was Kemet the birthplace of Man... Today is a historic day.... A man of Color has been choicen to led the way... Black, brown, white and Hispanic..... How the past has become present with the throne of Kings... At the Head is where our men was meant to be..... Stand up and remember to no man we bow... For the faces of Heaven is shining down upon us.... We are more than animals with our chocolate tones made from the richness of the earth... Soil is the substain of life for without it nothing can grow.... The blood that was shed was like the water which better things will root up from.... Obama for President... he must be the way to go....
