What are you waiting for?

ALRIGHT now!

the art exchange went a little slower than the last 2 but...the exposure and art was still there.

the conversations, the connections, the expression and the culture is growing.

i sold paintings for about 30 bucks altogether.

to artists!

i traded a piece with 3D master Dave Warner and i got a "Frank" piece from Donnie Darko!!

some younger people were whining to me that they didnt sell anything.

wahhhhhh for them!

those same "artists" made more than 200 bucks at the last 2 shows while i made about 60 from all three altogether.

and its also funny that im co-partner in this thing and im not giving up from not becoming rich.

those people complaining had a prime spot like they jump on every show too.

i was downstairs with 2 other awesome artists like last time and hardly anyone came down there...yet between the 3 of us we sold and traded more than the rest upstairs.

now...yes i was complaining about the lack of patrons this time around but i was only confused as to why.

i wasnt crying over spilt paint.

i didntĀ  expect Shepard Fairey to come and "discover" me.

yet one of the artists along side me downstairs was talkin to me about meeting him.

and how much of a cool and supportive creator he is.

there were extremely talented artists involved again this time too.

some of them didnt sell anything either yet they stayed to be part of the show!

to continue on.

to realize things dont happen over night if you are truly passionate and dedicated about them.

but its food for thought that some people cant handle not being paid attention to so insanely and ego-stroked.

there WILL be another Art Exchange!

and another...and another.

and if im co-partner of this thing along with being an artist and its not making me rich or "well known"...too bad.

there were 20+ more artists there to be exposed and seen!

its about culture!

its about doing what you love and expressing it where ever you can!

and its art...art is subjective.

some people might love hand made jewelry enough to pay 100 bucks for earrings.

or they might just like my wacko stuff and pay 20 bucks for a dr.JERMx original virus and robot.

im kind of angry at those artists who bitched and moaned that they didnt "come up"...from ONE art show.

Van Gogh was an extremely talented artist and sold one painting while he was alive.

maybe if those artists who were'nt drooled over realized that...they might understand they have sold more artwork within the last 6 months than Van Gogh did his entire life.

but some people just want fame and fortune and feel entitled to it because they create and paid 10 bucks for a booth fee!

just because youre good at what you do and love to do it...doesnt mean you'll get rich from it because you want to.

its a life long passion and it doesnt stop!

i'll be painting and drawing and writing and singing til i die.

and who knows what will happen concerning my success with it all.

but im still going to do it!

cha!
