A legend holds true until this very day,
that took place in a time far, far away.
There lived a princess with beauty beyond mortality,
Her blue eyes made men dance with glee.
Came one day a noble and honorable knight.
He became her protector only for her he would fight.
Days passed on and in his heart he knew,
that he loved her and he asked if she did too.
But she did not feel the same in her heart,
so in silence he stayed, but his love never part.
One fine day he came upon the princess,
she stood looking out her window in a flowing white dress.
He knew she was troubled and he asked her,
"What troubles thee, Mi lady? I see thy heart stir."
She sighed, " Sir Knight, what am I missing?
My mind art restless, I want to go out and see things."
She hung her head down, "Yet, yay, I do know,
like the king say, a princess, royalty she must show."
He smiled and told her, "Then meet me tonight,
in the main east court, at the first moon light."
That night was a night she'd never forget,
He showed her a new world that she'd never met.
For weeks at nights he would take her about,
but it didn't take long for the king to find out.
He was enraged with what the young knight's done,
He called forth his assassins to kill him when there's no sun.
That night he took the princess down by the river,
and in a tree was a flower that made her heart shiver.
Upon her request he reached up to take the flower,
that's when the assassins arrows came upon showers.
He fell back into the princess's waiting arms,
as she screamed for her knight had been harmed.
Slowly, as a whisper, he said, "I love thee."
and with those last words, he ceased to breath.
She cried and cried and shouted a prayer above,
"Dear God! not him, please not the one I love."
For that second when he fell, as his eyes dimmed,
She realized that she fell in love with him.
She rested her head upon the knight's chest,
she sobbed, "Please God, without him my life is a mess."
Then a voice from the heavens spoke in her mind,
this voice soothed her and was so sweet and kind.
"Sweet princess, are you willing to be with him?"
She replied, "yes, My lord, I wish to be with him."
"Then thoust shall be no more a princess than water is fire."
"I am willing," she said, "Without him I am no higher."
Then the breath returned to his once breathless body,
and she embraced him and said, "I thank the lord for my plee."
They both went away to another land,
as they loved each other, hand and hand.
Every night he held her in his embrace,
Every night he saw a smile on her angel face.
Every night she kissed him a sweet goodnight,
Every night she loved her noble and honorable knight.
Every night he'd say, "Always and forever and eternities to come."
Every night she'd say, "from the morning until the day is done."
