METAL AND HEAVY MUSIC FANS!!
Got a great show coming up this Saturday at Some in San Diego...this is our first show in San Diego in a while, since we've been out touring like rock stars! Come by and rock out with us and some great SD area bands like our buddies Discord and the headlining Mother Mae I!!!

Photobucket

We just returned from a great tour out into Arizona, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and lots of Texas. The shows were all pretty great, the crowds and people were amazingly nice and supportive! One highlight was playing at the newly finished Ice House in Austin! This place is the shit! Big Tim from Carbide [and all the Carbide guys] was a helluva nice guy and took great care of us out there in Austin. Look him and Carbide up, they are badass!

My band DYING REGRET is currently releasing our debut, 5 song CD/EP "The Price of Human Ruin", which was produced, engineered and mixed by industry professional Fred Archambault [known for his work with Avenged Sevenfold, 18 Visions, Deftones, and many more]. We are now in the process of trying to get the word out about our project, and would be grateful to any of you who would listen to our songs, provide me feedback, and help us to spread the word about Dying Regret if you like what you hear! 4 of the 5 songs on the EP are available for streaming below.

Click on the play button in the tool below to listen to our songs...but please realize that streaming media significantly reduces the sonic quality of the songs.

Please help support us in our push to take this band professional, and THANKS SO MUCH FOR HELPING US TO ACHIEVE OUR LIFELONG DREAM!

Hey there. Wayne aka "Ace" here. I play bass for the up-and-coming San Diego metal band Dying Regret. We've just released our debut EP "The Price of Human Ruin", which contains 5 songs we recently recorded in L.A. at Andrew Murdock's The Hobby Shop studio. The sessions were produced, mixed, and engineered by the amazing Fred Archambault [who also worked with Avenged Sevenfold and other current hot acts]. Not only did Fred give us a great sounding CD, but recording with him in the studio is one of the highlight memories of my life! My bandmate Willie and I have co-owned a nicely equipped ProTools based project recording studio, where we recorded a few CD projects ourselves...so we have an idea of what goes on in the studio...but Fred took everything to a whole new level.

So, been playing bass now for a few years, played guitar prior to that. Actually have enjoyed the switch, now that I am used to the differences [and believe me they are significant, not just 4 strings versus 6!], I don't think I would go back now. I'm loving the rumble and thump I get when playing my 35" scale Spector into my Ampeg SVT4pro/Ampeg 610 HLF rig. Even my budget Spector Performer that I recently refinished from gloss black to natural slams through this rig! I can run stereo with dual 610HLFs, but find that I usually can get by fine with just a single mono rig...

Enough of my musical ramblings...

I'm happily married to my lovely bride, Birny. We're just an old married couple, but it's working great for me! Also part of our pack is our little dog, BooBoo. She's one of those horrible pitbulls that will attack at the slightest provocation...and cover you with licks and love!

I work for a large computer company developing very large, very powerful systems which are everywhere in our world. I am a QA test engineer and try to ensure that no bad bits get released to our community.

Please feel free to fan or add me...always looking for new friends and fans! Just please know that I am very busy with the band and daytime work, so bear with me, I might be a little slow to get back to you...

Here are also some of my favorite people so far out here on CT! Go give them a little loving, please!

First off, the main Dying Regret page, here on CT...

Interests
Obviously, I love music...also love playing Halo2 online with my close buddies...a couple of hours of deathdealing, trash talking, and teabagging is good for the soul...I get hooked on silly little games like the one below and jigsawdoku....I'm a big fan of well done tattoos, love seeing well done ink...I'm a big fan of "adult" animations like ATHF, Robot Chicken, Metalocalypse [I swear they are parodying the band sometimes], the Oblongs, Family Guy, South Park, Tripping the Rift, Samurai Champloo, anything like that...definitely like there to be a bit of darkness in my animation...

Music
Well, first off, gotta say that music is a HUGE thing to me...has been for almost all of my life...whether playing [nothing better than when you are playing in front of a crowd of people who are feeling your shit and digging it and rocking HARD!] or listening to others' music...I've been focused on music for as long as I can remember.

The first thing I have to say about music is about my band, Dying Regret. We are an unsigned band making heavy, beuatiful music, and seemingly winning people over two ears at a time. We have just released our debut EP entitled "The Price of Human Ruin" which contains 5 kickass songs engineered, mixed, and produced by the freaking amazing Fred Archambault!

The band spent 2 weeks working with him in Andrew Murdock's "The Hobby Shop" studios in L.A. This was one of the coolest things I've done, hearing the songs come into focus and just keep getting heavier and tighter and more powerful and dynamic and fucking cool! I have been recording a good bit myself in a co-owned project recording studio [where we layed the basics for these songs], and really enjoying looking over Fred's shoulder and asking him about his techniques...of course, the sweet selection of gear he had access to, on top of the good sounding acoustics of The Hobby Shop didn't hurt any, either. Plus, it was basically just a good time hanging out with him!

So, please listen to our tunes if you like heavy music in the general sound of bands like Lamb of God, Killswitch Engage, Chimaira, Pantera, In Flames, Black Label Society and Bleed the Sky.

Here is a collection of some music I am currently digging...I love finding good but unknown bands, so please let me know if you have any suggestions on new music I need to be aware of! Most of the music below is heavy, as that's what I primarily love, but there are some noteable lighter songs in there too...I like most genres of music, though still haven't gotten over my lifelong dislike of country music [though there ARE very rare exceptions to every rule...] Anyways, check out my tunes below, let me know if I've given you a chance to find new music that makes you happy! Like I said earlier, if you know of any exceptional bands that I should be aware of, please let me know...please, only well-recorded material...I have an intense dislike for badly recorded music...
