I've got a friend who just recently quit drinking..on day 19 being sober today (Sunday). When she drank she had blackouts and was obnoxious, so I'm really glad to see that she's made the decision to quit. She said: "it's just time to quit. I've needed to for a while."
She went to the doctor, got some withdrawal meds, and is now doing fine 2 weeks later. The doc told her that she should take it a day at a time and that he's available for her any time to talk about things. He said that he didn't recommend AA cuz it's not for everyone, and she had a good support system of family and friends.
My question:
A) Should she continue to take it a day at a time, doing it on her own?
B) She still should enroll in AA. |
