Drifting through a minefield
explosive carnage everywhere..
one touch is all it takes
to ignite what's in the air..
shadows drift on by
haunting the very road..
the staring of their sightless eyes
betraying nothing of the unknown.
the charge now held in hand
reeks of blood.. sweat and tears..
it holds the essence of those now gone..
those lost throughout the years.
hard fought has the battle been
as tears now soak the road...
for each droplet that now falls..
is for those who have fought for what we know.
