Sharkfin's blog: "Chaos"

created on 10/03/2006  |  http://fubar.com/chaos/b9661
Two young Indian braves were walking through the forest one day while contemplating life, past and present. One brave who was called Eagle-Claw said; “You know Bear-Fang, my great uncle White-Cloud said; In addition to the commonly shared belief in a Great Spirit which created The universe and everything, He believed the world was divided in three layers on three floating disks; the Sky World, the Middle World (where he lived), and the Water World.” Bear-Fang acknowledged with a nod and the two kept walking… A little while later in their walk Eagle-Claw noticed Bear-Fang was not speaking and seemed in great thought wrestling with what is and what was. Eagle-Claw said; “They believed Sky World was supported by the Great Eagle who always remaining in the same place, only occasionally stretching its wings, which cause the phases of the moon and lunar eclipses.” This made Bear-Fang Look up… “The Middle World “Said Eagle-Claw “was believed held in place by a giant serpent which would sometimes move, causing earthquakes.” Once again Bear-Fang looked but this time downward. “They believed the Water World to be made from the urine of the many frogs that lived in it.” Eagle-Claw continued. Now Bear-Fang was just about to speak but first looked up and down and all around. In a solemn voice said; “Ah what you say is good, we should know where we are, where we are going and what is above us and below, not all is good and not all is bad. The fish swim up stream to where it came from while The Eagle flies high above the ground and the Rabbit seeks refuge from the winter winds…” Eagle-Claw nods his head in agreement and said; “Look there an Eagle” Just as he pointed both he and Bear-Fang watched as An eagle was sitting on a tree resting, doing nothing. A small rabbit saw the eagle and asked him, 'Can I also sit like you and do nothing?' The eagle answered: 'Sure , why not.' So, the rabbit sat on the ground below the eagle and rested. All of a sudden, a fox appeared, jumped on the rabbit and ate it. Both young braves looked at one another and were astonished…how could this happen? Eagle-Claw thinking he was wiser said: “To be sitting and doing nothing, you must be sitting very, very high up.” Bear-Fang again turned quite and pale… “What grieves you my friend… do you feel remorse for the rabbit? Do you think the Eagle gave the rabbit bad advice?” No… No said Bear-Fang… I always thought the water in our teepee tasted like frog pee……. The Moral of this story can be taken in different ways. First and foremost Life is a mystery and everyone has their own idea of what makes the world turn and what makes it stop. Secondly Good advice might turn into bad advice in the blink of an eye. Always apologize to those you hurt you never know if you will not be given another chance to do so. Thirdly, if something tastes bad…check for frog content… Have a wonderful weekend…all characters in this story were made up and by no means related to the story teller. A huge hug and a Pat with many grins from a believer in good mornings start out with good company… Mart (Good Morning)
