Once you have been tagged, you have to write a blog with 10 weird or random things, facts, or habits about yourself. The first 10 took me a very long time to write... I live a near hermit's existence and dicussing the real me is tough. Anyhow a fu-friend said I should reveal more about myself. I thought long and hard and decided the first 10 were hard but it was cathartic so pretending i've been tagged again here's 10 more and I shan't be tagging anyone for these.
1.) I got cold-cocked by George Carlin in the Amsterdam Cafe in NYC back '83 or '84
2.) I've gotten drunk with 3 famous people, Natalie Merchant, Tracy Chapman and Frank Miller not at the same time and yes sitting at a bar drinking and gabbing, Natalie Merchant's a bitch and in the '80s Frank Miller's cigs of choice were Marlboro.
3.) Even though i had become a father 2 years before, in '87 a went to europe and euro trashed it for 6 mos. came home penniless.
4.) I won my first creative essay contest when I was 7 yrs. old competing against 4th graders.
5.) When Dizzy Gilespie came to our campus in the 80's he bagged on the reception the administration threw and went to the campus bar to drink... I was bartending the entire time he sat at the bar and drank.
6.) Moby Dick is my favorite book followed closely by The Hunchback of Notre Dame.
7.) I was once so obsessed with the Lord Of The Rings that I learned to read and write elvish. I still have the elvish to english dictionary.
8.) My mother is an immigrant from Sicily.
9.) I love to ride horses. I learned to ride bareback in college.
10.) I am very poor at receiving, anything. I'm a much better giver...
