Lord, Protect Our Boys in Service
Lord, bless our boys in service
As they leave their homes.
Wilt thou be near to guide them
And protect them where they roam
We pray a special blessing
On these our closest friends,
Lord, please take special care of them
And bless them to the end.
We pray Thy will be done
Concerning their precious lives
Be thou with them in battle
Protect them in the strife.
We ask that thou will spare them
According to Thy will.
If there is work for them to do,
This request will Thou fulfill?
Lord, please keep them safe,
Where ever they may roam,
If it is Thy will to be,
Lord bring safely home.
But, should this summons come to you
To meet Thee up above,
Lord please help them to prepare
Redeem their hearts with love
Help to seek and find Thee
Before it if too late,
Lord receive their spirits unto thyself
This the prayer we yearn
They did not go because of choice
To fight the foe in war
They went because of greed of gains
Thy gracious world to scar
Oh that man some day would learn
And there would reign upon this earth
A happy time of peace
Where hatred and all strife would cease
And mankind could live in love
And prepare them selves upon this earth
For the eternal heaven above
