Please let this one dream come true. . .
She walks along in the rain on a cold November day
She looks up so the rain can wash away her tears
Shaking and shivering she knocks on the door
Hoping someone on the other side will give a damn!
Praying to god that she won’t be left alone again
Waiting for what seems an eternity without an answer
She falls to her knees sobbing
Fighting with her self knowing that there is at least one person who cares
And for him she keeps going
Keeps eating at least one meal a day
Stops sliding that sharp little blade
Across a wrist that remembers a kiss
That is attached to a mind that dreams of sunrises and warm beds
And lying next to the one she loves until small voices call from the other room
Dreams of loving kisses and sweet smiles of children that she worked so hard for
Straining with every inch to give them a chance to breath in life
With him by her side she is not afraid
All to soon she realizes she is still alone in the cold rain waiting
She wants . . .
Only god knows what she really wants
If only her mind would stop racing
If only her dad would stop yelling
Where is the peace she longs for, is it just a dream?
