What are you waiting for?

I woke up this morning, as usual I expected a fight from both of my teenagers, son 17 and daughter 13. We own 2 homes side by side and my son stays most of the time in our other home mainly when there is no school. But last night he did not return here, which was ok. All I have to do is walk next door and wake him up. Anyway, this morning he refused. He didn't want to go to school. Of course we had our mother/son banter on about why he should go and his view on why he shouldn't go this day. So him being 6' tall and 320 pounds, made him being way out of my league to force him to go to school, plus I decided I really didn't want to stroke out and die. Even though this is his Senior yr. I gave in and left him alone. Went back inside my other home. I then heard him screaming. I thought well he is just messing with me. Then he just kept on. So I went onto my front porch, he was on his way home, holding his face and screaming he was blind. I kept asking him what happened he said he didn't know. He said he stepped on something and then there was a loud pop and something hit him in the face. He made it to our back porch, and I looked into his what was suppose to be blue eyes, and only saw one blue eye. The other eye was brown, with a bright red pupil. It scared me I almost went into shock, but I had to pull myself together as not scare him any worse than he was already. So, off to the ER we went, all the way there I was trying to make sense of what had happened. All he could, or would tell me I should say is that he didn't know. At the ER they cleaned it, and decided he should see an eye sugeon right away. So off on another 45 minute trip we went. So on the way it occurred to me what had happened! I said "Son, last week when you and your friend were hanging out and made those pop bottle bombs, did you use them where you were?" He thought a second and his reply was quick! "Yeah, you know I bet that is what happened to me, I stepped on it and when I did it exploded and I got hit with debris!" Ok, moral of this story to follow. 1.Two teenage boys being teenage boys, ok. 2. Two teenage boys doing something they thought was harmless and fun, could end up costing one of them their eye if not now, then some where down the road. 3. Teenage son not listening to his mother about the importance of an education, on the importance of doing the right thing when sometimes it is not what we really want to do. teenage son not listening to mother when she tells him she loves him and always tells him that the things she says are because she loves him and that she would never guide him in any direction to cause him hardship or pain. A teenage son who is an awsome teenager compared to many in todays society, he doesn't run around, drink, smoke or use girls. His only fault, perhaps is he doesn't listen to his mother. Had he listened to me his mother, and come with me when I went to get him, he would still have both his eyes the way they should be, HEALTHY! Keep him in your prayers, the eye dr said it was severely bruised, that was why one eye was brown. They said for him to be on complete bedrest, no straining what so ever. He can't even be on computer or play his video games. They are putting him on complete bed rest as to not cause it to rebleed. They say it as extremely important to do as they say so he doesn't lose his eye. He can see out of it, but getting it well to where it needs to be is a long way off. This type of injury can cause glaucoma and cataracts if not now, somewhere down the road when he is older. OK, I am going to post some pics of his glorious day, so rate em if you like, Thanks to all!
