Holiday Hectic

~The hustle the bustle, and of course i have already scolded those whom would disregard those around them for a simple gift ( after all if we got everything we wanted all the time... cliche as it is ... we still would not be happy.. what we seek lies only subtly in monetary gain, financial security leads to possibility.... and i'm not talking xbox 360 though yes i want it, i can wait though ;-) ). What about those who are working to get you out the door with those purchases? I've said it every year and i will as long as this mouth and these fingers work. People... please please stand up for the customer service worker! There are times i am appalled at how people treat those who are working. The cashier has no power.... and no, when things change as quickly as they do around the holiday season they aren't going to know everything right off the top of their head especially if they are seasonal. Now deal with the picky superior way people act all day and try to stay in the spirit enough to wake up early that one day you have off and battle through crowds with bare enough energy to push through let alone defend the poor girl who's trying to figure out why the sale price isn't ringing and near in tears her first 10 minutes into her shift because some hoity toity pole butt can't be bothered to be patient for a few minutes. If you don't want to deal with the hassle... go shopping at 10 am on a monday morning. If you can't then just like rush hour traffic, accept that this is the way it's going to be and you are NOT going to help the situation by frazzling the person that has to deal with complaint after complaint after complaint when all they're supposed to do is ring the people out. You want to complain take a deep breath and make sure you're making your statement ( i emphasize the word statement screaming your head off ( i can attest to this having waitressed and worked customer service jobs a good majority of my working life) is only going to irritate the situation. If it doesn't you should send the person a frickin gift basket for having such enormous patience.) In my observations many people don't and i've seen hair crazed red faced lunatics yelling at the top of their lungs be satisfied and nary so much as a thank you but a huff and a dark glare at the poor 6.50 an hour worker who's just trying to make some extra cash so they can eat EVERY day when they're away at college as mom and dad have put everything they have scraped away for into said school and barely have enough left to make a decent christmas dinner ( which, depending on the job i'd like to take the moment to remind you some of these workers may not be home for until 10 at night if at all. There are families that have a dinner and go to sleep and wake up for an hour to have dinner with that person.). So(and those of you who aren't getting uppity at this point are most likely laughing with me and reminiscing about some angry little customer) before you get all self righteous because you're in a HUGE hurry to accomplish your daily deeds to celebrate this holiday of PEACE, LOVE, AND GOODWILL AMONG ALL..... take a deep breath, try and see if that waitress had someone yelling at her two minutes before she forgot to get your refill. Or the cashier just had a nitpicking fool who kept asking the same question over and over again even though they were getting the answer they needed, and realize the more we help each other by just taking a moment to calm... or , my personal favorite... pardoning yourself into the conversation and alerting the "self designated elite" to their immensely rude behaviour in the most clear calm and LOUD voice one can.... we can perhaps , finally start giving something back to the emotion of the holidays instead of seeing so mu2ch getting, taking , receiving... you're following me right? ;-)@};--------
