a good friend

. A good friend This guy was like a dad to me and a good friend Stanley C. "Robinhood" Wells "Robinhood" Wells February 5, 2007 Stanley C. Wells "Robinhood," 58, of Syracuse, died Monday evening, February 5, 2007. Born August 31, 1948, in Gouverneur and raised in Ogdensburg, he is survived by his wife, Tina Wells of Syracuse; and his children, Sean Wells of Syracuse, Matthew Wells of Poughkeepsie and Carolyn Riihinen, and one granddaughter, Genavieve Wilson-Riihinen, both of Freeville. Also surviving are his mother, Agathlyn Thomas of Ogdensburg; brother, Donald (Darla) Wells of Snyder, TX; sister, Sally (Peter) Gilbo; brother-in-law, Ted Williams, all of Russell, NY; and mother-in-law, Florence Little of Syracuse; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins in and around the Ogdensburg area. Stan is also survived by his former wife and the mother of his sons, Elsie (Thomas) Wells of Ocala, FL. His father, Clifford Wells Jr., and sister, Sherry Williams, preceded him in death. Stan was owner of The CB Shop located in Syracuse for over 20 years and a second location in Waterloo since 2005. He is well known by his CB handle "Robinhood" to many local CB enthusiasts as well as almost every truck driver who has passed through Syracuse. Stan also contributed to Layover.com as 'The CB Corner.' His development of many new and innovative products for both CB and amateur radio over the past seven years are known and in use across the country. Stan was able to do these things despite becoming legally blind in 1998. His accomplishments in life also include graduation from Ogdensburg Free Academy in 1966, a member of the 'Undaunted' class of the Salvation Army graduating at New York City, an officer with the Salvation Army in various locations, he also earned a doctorate in religion accomplished over many years at various colleges. He left the Salvation Army and started a business known as 'Robinhood Music' that sold 8-track tapes and cassettes and served small stores in Upstate NY, VT and NH. This later led to his greatest passion, the CB business. Stan also became a brother Mason raised in VT and remained a member of the Bethany Lodge #821. Until his death he was a past member of the Moose Lodge #814 in Ogdensburg. He successfully passed his amateur radio test in 2003, earning his 'Ham Ticket' call sign "KC2KGG." Although Stan was legally blind and suffered from diabetic retinopathy, Stan's final act of selflessness was the donation of his corneas for transplant in order to give the gift of sight to someone else. In keeping with his wishes, no funeral service or calling hours are scheduled; however, a wake will be held in his honor at the Liverpool-Syracuse Masonic Lodge #501 located at 608 Oswego St., Liverpool, on Saturday, Feb. 17, 2007, from noon until 6 p.m. with a Masonic service at 2 p.m. to be performed by his son and brother Mason, Sean Wells. Friends are welcome to attend to express their farewells. The family asks that no flowers be sent, but a donation be made to any of the following charities that touched Stan's life: St. Joseph Dialysis Centers, Diabetes Association of CNY, CNY Kidney Foundation, Organ Donor Services of CNY or the Salvation Army in honor of Stan. Going Home Go rest now precious one, Your life in eternity has just begun. Now you can walk, your legs are brand new. All of heaven is now in your view. Look all around,it's all in your sight, There will never be another dark night. Flowers and jewels, the street of pure gold, and all of the things that have been told. I can just imagine the smile on your face as you walk all around in that beautiful place. Greeting our loved ones as you walk along, while singing heaven's most beautiful song. This is so very hard, but it will all be okay,it isn't goodbye,we'll see you one day. We love you and we'll miss you and at times it will be tough, but as with everything,God's grace will be enough.
