Cuz I don't want them.
I want my dog back.
My little puppy.
My best friend.
Some people might think its silly..
but I dont care.
because Pepper has always been there for me.
I remember when I was six years old or so
After a big argument at the dinner table...
and feeling like i was all alone in the world
I would go cry in my room..
And I remember hearing the jingle down the hallway
Almost like Santa's bells on Christmas Eve
of little Pepper's name tags clanking as she came
she would hop from the floor to my bed
and lick my tears away.
I would tell her everything
secrets good and bad
And somehow, someway I felt that she was listening
And magically, afterwards I would feel o.k.
Somehow that little doggy would make the pain go away
So many memories
like going to the cabin at the lake..
how she'd plant her paws at the front of the boat and let the wind blow at her face...
how I was the little menace who threw her in when she'd least expect it..
She was the family's dog.
She loved anyone instantly
even strangers..
the UPS man..
the plumber
the furnace technician
..My Grandpa, rest his soul
...but now everyone says
"She was your dog, Christy..."
and I know that it's true.
She was so full of life!
She was always there for me.
I'll never let her go
and I'll hold onto the memories forever..
