Snow White is the immortal princess of Tabor and the main protagonist of Snow White and the Huntsman. Enchanting all with her defiance and innate purity, she is considered to be the "Fairest of Them All" in the land that had once been ruled by the diabolical Queen Ravenna for ten long agonizing years. She is the only-born daughter of King Magnus and Queen Eleanor, who died from an unknown sickness during a long deep winter, and King Magnus then remarried to Ravenna, but she killed the King on the night of their wedding to seize full control of the Kingdom. With her father gone and her beloved Kingdom fallen to the power of Ravenna, Snow White was cruelly imprisoned in the North Tower of the Castle. However, she later escapes from her imprisonment and forges an uneasy alliance with the mysterious Huntsman, who is in desperate need of salvation. Overcoming all of Ravenna's trickeries, Snow White leads her Army in a formidable assault against the Evil Queen. She faces off against Ravenna and kills the wretched woman once and for all. With the Kingdom at last returned to its former glory and the land also returned to its enchanting glory, Snow White is crowned Queen of Tabor. As she looks out over her loyal subjects, amongst them are William, Duke Hammond, the Dwarves, Greta (whose stolen beauty has returned upon the Queen's demise) and Anna. Snow White spots the Huntsman amongst the crowd, who smiles at her, and she smiles back at him. As the Time of Darkness is over, and the Dawn of a New Era is finally within reach.

Personality and Traits -

Widely considered to be the "Fairest One of Them All", Snow White is a kind-hearten and benevolent young woman with great devotion towards her people. Her love is so vast and powerful that it surpasses Ravenna's physical beauty. When she was young, Snow White nursed a bird back to health from a broken wing. As she grew, so too did her kindness and her power. During her visit to the Sanctuary, Snow White received the blessing of the White Hart, a mystical entity that supposedly never appeared before mortals. Indeed, Ravenna sought to obtain Snow White's heart as her immortal love would maintain her young and beautiful forever. In the end, however, Snow White's love proved to be so strong that Ravenna could not consume her heart, leading to Snow White's ultimate victory.

Snow White also cares very deeply for those around her, especially her loved ones. She cares very deeply for Eric and constantly worries about his welfare, despite been frustrated by what she sees as his stupidity and arrogance. Though she sees that he has a good heart and is caring, protective and loyal man to have at her side. In the end, she becomes his salvation, healing his broken heart and earning his love. Despite their differences, they have much respect and love for one another and are willing to put themselves in dangerous situations for each others sake. Snow White also cares a great deal for William, her childhood friend.

my ideal the one's make different to the world in general - Gunpei Yokoi September 10, 1941 October 4, 1997), sometimes spelt Gumpei Yokoi, was a Japanese video game designer. He was a long-time Nintendo employee, creator of the Game Boy and Game & Watch handheld systems, and producer of several long-running and critically acclaimed video game franchises. In 1997, he was killed after being struck by a car on the Hokuriku Expressway.
Yokoi saw a bored businessman playing with an LCD calculator by pressing the buttons. Yokoi then got the idea for a watch that doubled as a miniature game machine for killing time, and went on to create Game & Watch, a line of handheld electronic games.

In 1981, Yamauchi appointed Yokoi to supervise Donkey Kong, an arcade game created by Shigeru Miyamoto. Yokoi explained many of the intricacies of game design to Miyamoto at the beginning of his career, and the project only came to be approved after Yokoi brought Miyamoto's game ideas to the president's attention.

After the worldwide success of Donkey Kong, Yokoi continued to work with Miyamoto on the next Mario game, Mario Bros. He proposed the multi-player concept and convinced his co-worker to give Mario some superhuman abilities, such as the ability to jump from higher places unharmed.
Shigeru Miyamoto
(Born November 16, 1952 in Sonobe, Kyoto, Japan) is a Japanese video game designer and producer. Miyamoto was born and raised in Kyoto Prefecture; the natural surroundings of Kyoto inspired much of Miyamoto's later work.

He is mainly known for his work at the video game production company Nintendo, where he created some of the most successful video game franchises of all time,

my favorite games are the old style games from Nintendo and the Atari that started it all and my favorite book to read is Nintendo game over an essay how started from a to z in the industry. and competed with saga and worked with them in the past and future: PAC- man history _ Although Iwatani has repeatedly stated that the character's shape was inspired by a pizza missing a slice, he admitted in a 1986 interview that this was a half-truth and the character design also came from simplifying and rounding out the Japanese character for mouth, kuchi . Iwatani attempted to appeal to a wider audience and ÂÂÂÂbeyond the typical demographics of young boys and teenagers. This led him to add elements of a maze, as well as cute ghost enemy characters. The result was a game he named Puck Man.

Later in 1980, the game was picked up for manufacture in the United States by Bally division Midway, which changed the game's name from Puck Man to PAC-Man in an effort to avoid vandalism to the letter 'P'. Mario

is a fictional character in the Mario video game franchise by Nintendo, created by Japanese video game designer Shigeru Miyamoto. Serving as Nintendo's mascot and the titular protagonist of the series, Mario has appeared in over 200 video games since his creation. Though originally only appearing in platform games, starting with Donkey Kong, Mario currently appears in varied video game genres such as racing, puzzle, party, role-playing, fighting, and sports.

Mario is depicted as a short, pudgy, Italian-American plumber who lives in the Mushroom Kingdom. He repeatedly stops the turtle-like villain Browser's numerous plans to kidnap Princess Peach, destroy him and take over the kingdom. Mario also has other enemies and rivals, including Donkey Kong and Wario. Since 1995, he has been voiced by Charles Martinet.

As Nintendo's mascot, Mario is said to be the most famous character in video game history. Mario games, as a whole, have sold more than 210 million units, making the Mario franchises the best-selling video game franchise of all time. Concept and creation

Shigeru Miyamoto created Mario while developing Donkey Kong in an attempt to produce a best-selling video game for Nintendo; previous titles like Sheriff had not achieved the same success as titles like PAC-Man. Originally, Miyamoto wanted to create a video game that used the characters Popeye, Bluto, and Olive Oyl. At the time, however, Miyamoto was unable to acquire a license to use the characters (and would not until 1982), so he ended up making Jumpman (later known as Mario), Donkey Kong, and Pauline. In the early stages of Donkey Kong, Mario was unable to jump, and the focus was to escape a maze. However, Miyamoto enabled Mario to jump, saying "If you had a barrel rolling towards you, what would you do?"

Miyamoto originally named the character "Mr. Video", and he was to be used in every video game Miyamoto developed. According to a widely circulated story, during localization of Donkey Kong for North American audiences, Nintendo of America's warehouse landlord Mario confronted its then-president Minoru Arawakan, demanding back rent. Following a heated argument in which the Nintendo employees eventually convinced Segale he would be paid, they opted to name the character in the game Mario after him.

Miyamoto commented that if he had named Mario "Mr. Video", Mario likely would have "disappeared off the face of the Earth." By Miyamoto's own account, Mario's profession was chosen to fit with the game design. Since Donkey Kong was set on a construction site, Mario was made into a carpenter. When he appeared again in Mario Bros., it was decided he should be a plumber, since a lot of the game is played in underground settings. Mario's character design, particularly his large nose, draws on western influences; once he became a plumber, Miyamoto decided to "put him in New York" and make him Italian, lightheartedly attributing Mario's nationality to his mustache. Other sources have Mario's profession chosen to be carpenter in an effort to depict the character as an ordinary hard worker, and make it easier for players to identify with him. After a colleague suggested that Mario more closely resembled a plumber, Miyamoto changed Mario's profession accordingly and developed Mario Bros., featuring the character in the sewers of New York City.

Due to the graphical limitations of arcade hardware at the time, Miyamoto clothed the character in red overalls and a blue shirt to contrast against each other and the background. A cap was added to let Miyamoto avoid drawing the character's hairstyle, forehead, and eyebrows, as well as to circumvent the issue of animating his hair as he jumped. To make him appear human onscreen despite his small size, Mario was given distinct features, prominently a large nose and a mustache, which avoided the need to draw a mouth and facial expressions on the small onscreen character.

Miyamoto developed Mario with the idea of using him as a "go to" character that could be put into any title as needed, albeit in cameo appearances, as at the time Miyamoto was not expecting Mario to become popular. To this end, he originally called the character "Mr. Video", comparing his intent to have Mario appear in later games to the cameos done by Alfred Hitchcock within Hitchcock's films.

Over time, Mario's appearance has become more defined; both a red "M" in a white circle on the front of his hat and gold buttons on his overalls has been added. Miyamoto attributed this process to the different development teams and artists for each game as well as advances in technology as time has gone on. Nintendo has never revealed Mario's full name, stating only that it was not "Mario Mario" despite the implication of the Mario Bros. series' title, its use in the film, and information given in the Prima official Guidebook to Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga.

Abilities

During the development of Donkey Kong, Mario was known as Jumpman. Jumping both to access places and as an offensive move a common game play element in Mario games, especially the Super Mario Bros. series. By the time Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars was released, jumping became such a signature act of Mario that the player was often tasked with jumping to prove to NPCs that he was Mario. Mario's most commonly portrayed form of attack is jumping to stomp on the heads of enemies, first used in Super Mario Bros. This jump-stomp move may entirely crush smaller enemies on the stage, and usually deals damage to larger ones, sometimes causing secondary effects. This attack often enables Mario to knock the turtle-like Koopa Troopas into or out of their shells, which can be used as weapons. Subsequent games have elaborated on Mario's jumping-related abilities. Super Mario World added the ability to spin-jump, which allows Mario to break blocks beneath him. The Game Boy version of Donkey allowed Mario to jump higher with consecutive jumps, and perform a back-flip. In Super Mario 64, Mario gains new jumping abilities, such as a sideways somersault, a ground pound, and the "Wall Jump", which propels him upwards by kicking off walls.

Reception and legacy

As Nintendo's mascot, Mario is considered by some to be the most famous video game character in history, and has been called an icon of the gaming industry.
Creator Shigeru Miyamoto has stated that Mario is his favorite character out of all that he has created. Nintendo Power listed Mario as their favorite hero, citing his defining characteristics as his mustache, red cap, plumbing prowess, and his mushrooms.

Game Over (book)

Overview
The book details the history of Nintendo Company, Limited and its rise to become the most powerful electronic gaming company in the world as of 1993. The book also provides a history of the worldwide electronic gaming industry as a whole from the 1960s to the 1990s.
The book is notable in that the author extensively interviewed numerous established figures in the industry, such as Howard Lincoln, Nolan Bushnell, Shigeru Miyamoto (spelled as "Sigeru" in the book), Alexey Pajitnov, and others, including people who spoke anonymously. Despite the title, the book is fairly neutral; it mainly relates the history of the company while looking at both the positives and negatives of their business practices.

Concept and creation

In 1981, Nintendo was pursuing a license to make a game based on the Popeye comic strip. When this fell through, Nintendo decided that it would take the opportunity to create new characters that could then be marketed and used in later games. Miyamoto came up with many characters and plot concepts, but he eventually settled on a gorilla/carpenter/girlfriend love triangle that mirrored the rivalry between Bluto and Popeye for Olive Oyl. Bluto was replaced by an ape, which Miyamoto said was "nothing too evil or repulsive", and the pet of the main character. Miyamoto has also named "Beauty and the Beast" and the 1933 film King Kong as influences for the character.
Miyamoto believed "donkey" meant "stupid" in English, and assumed the name Donkey Kong would convey the sense "stupid ape" to an American audience. When he suggested this name to Nintendo of America, he was laughed at, but the name stuck.

The Need for Speed (NFS) series are racing games, all of which employ the same fundamental rules and have similar mechanics. In each game, the player controls a race car in a variety of races, the goal being to win the race. In the tournament/career mode, the player must win a series of races in order to unlock vehicles, tracks, etc. Before playing each race, the player chooses a vehicle to race in and has the option of choosing the transmission of the vehicle, which includes automatic and manual transmission. All games in the series have some form of multi-player mode allowing players to race one another via split screen, LAN or the Internet.
