What is there to say? I am who I am . . .

Which means that I am an independent person with a mind of my own. I don't hesitate to express myself when the need calls for it, I am slow to anger and quick to forgive.


The Answer
The clocks hands spin around the bleached white face,
Their movements blended together as though they were one instead of 2.
Minutes turn to hours,
Hours into days,
Days into Months,
And months blend into the bitter sweetness of years.
Those years add up to life,
And life is but a search.
All of my life
I have looked around me for answers,
The endless merry go round,
Spinning and spinning.
Those answers have eluded me and left me time after time.
Always I looked to others for the solution that rests within my own heart.
Always have I wanted the easy answer,
When there is none that would ever exist.
Life is but a game,
And all of us the players on the board.
We live to seek the truth,
We haunt the shadows,
Peer into the darkness,
All in the name of truth and answers.
But never did I let myself look to myself.
Never did I listen to my own words.
I had the answers within me all along.
All it took was years to see them,
Years to know them,
And decades to realize that happiness is not dependent on another.
Happiness is a state of mind,
And I need to embrace it myself.
Before I can find love I need to find me.
