I swore an oath ( several times actually ) to defend my country against all enemies foreign and domestic. Most get lost in the sentimental pall that washes over all in attendance at the military re-enlistment oath ceremony at the part where it says defend against all enemies and never consider the domestic threat.
Did I wake up in the damn 3rd reich headquarters or is this my COUNTRY that's treating people like that??? When I was sweating my ass off in sandy foxholes or wooden shacks, or all night while sleeping in the trees in the jungles in countries where my fellow countrymen didn't even know that we had troops, or in beddouin tents out in the sacred soil of the Islamic faith I never dreamed that I would have to explain that this misanthropic practice of attempting to gain peace through superior firepower with complete disregard for the effect of those attempts on the balance of humanity even and especially WITHIN OUR OWN BORDERS is just plain WRONG!!
Never forget - to practice and pray for peace - that the memory of those fallen may teach us a more valuable lesson than retaliation. Vengeance is no less hatred than violence and both have wrought more death than honor. Make love not war. Pray for lost souls and those who released them. Laws are made to be broken and it's about time that we started busting heads if the administration won't listen. Up in arms? Come try to get mine and find out. I prefer a peaceful resolution but there's not really one being offered, is there?
