I love to debate and have intelligent conversations with anybody who either shares or disagrees with my sentiments on both contemporary governmental issues and/or the media.. I feel that I am a *MODERATE DEMOCRAT* who finds himself sliding over to the right wing on issues such as abortion and the size of government, but I have *LIBERAL* tendencies, especially when it comes to the death penalty, which i strongly oppose.. I feel that although FoxNews is not objective in terms of their news coverage it nonetheless is the no.1 source of news.. Although I voted for John Kerry in the 2004 election, I nonetheless understand why George Bush ultimately won the decisive battle for a 2nd term: Kerry did not have his agenda firmly established; being 'Liberal' is one thing, changing your outlook and beliefs according to the polls is another. With that being said, Bush, whom I strongly oppose, kept his base (the evangelicals and the soccer moms, etc) believing that he would stand by his convictions no matter what, which, in contemporary politics, is vital to the success or failure of any candidate, whether it be at the national level or on a state by state basis. I also feel that until the left controls a portion of the south, which the past two Democratic candidates failed to achieve, they will never win another election. Red runs rampant throughout America, and until the blue can resurface as a valid party that can not just win their base but also some Independant candidates, they will fail in the end. Pertaining to the Judicial Branch, I am an opponent of strict constructionalism: I believe that the Framers of the Constitution had a hunch that, over time, our legal doctrine would have to be changed in order to fulfill the prosperity of the electorate as a whole. It is also ironic that the Founding Fathers, most notably James Madison and Thomas Jefferson, based their calls for freedom on the principle that all men are created equal a la Abe Lincoln about a century later, yet they eradicated minorities rights, such as the Native Americans, in order to see their nationalistic goals reached without any degree of confrontation.. ( YEAH I KNOW, IM BORING LOL )
