I am a progressive democratic socialist and a vegan.

I was born in Stoughton, MA. I lived in Brockton, MA until I was seven. My family moved to East Bridgewater, MA the summer after I finished first grade. I also spent a couple of years living in Bridgewater, MA during college.

The arts have always been a passion of mine. Some of my earliest memories are of my grandmother recording me reciting rhymes and singing on an old cassette tape deck. I still have those tapes. In elementary and middle school, I took dance lessons at Paula Coffey Dance Center. After seventh grade, I spent a summer in the voice program of the SMARTS Collaborative at Wheaton. I was in school chorus from fourth grade through the first couple of years of college. My high school chorus participated in regional competitions, as well as Festivals of Music in Toronto. We were also selected to perform on the Tomorrowland Stage in Walt Disney World. Also in high school, I was a member of drama club and took drama and music theory classes. My activities outside of school included attending Capachione School of Performing Arts for voice and theatre, spending two summers (one as a camper, one as a CIT) in the theatre program at Buck's Rock Performing and Creative Arts Camp, and taking voice lessons with Andrea DelGiudice. My college career began in September of 1999 at the University of Rhode Island as a theatre major. After three semesters there, I transferred to Bridgewater State College and, soon after, changed my major to psychology. I graduated from Bridgewater State College in May of 2006 with a B.S. in psychology. I also have a certificate in interior design from Massasoit Community College and have done some amateur modeling. A couple of my head shots were used in this promo for Carriage House Salon and Spa in West Bridgewater, MA.

My ancestry is half Italian (half of which is Sicilian) from my father and half Lithuanian/Latvian from my mother. I am a 3rd generation American. My dad grew up Catholic and my mom grew up Jewish. They converted to Unitarian Universalism before I was born. This is what I was raised. My mom even became a minister a few years back. When I was 12 or 13 I stopped attending church. I never felt spiritual there, so it didn't seem worth it. I now consider myself to be an atheist pagan, which is what I've always been at heart. Funny thing is that it's acceptable to be just that in the UU church. I use 'pagan' in the sense that I experience spirituality in things such as nature, drugs, music, sex, and love. Also, the concept of karma tends to fit into my way of seeing the universe.
