What are you waiting for?

2008 Bathurst 1000

I posted this up on myspace originally but decided to post it here too.

Leaving for Bathurst on the Friday is a struggle i so want to be there before Thursday missing 4 practice sessions kills me to no end.

This years Bathurst 1000 was one of the best i have seen (maybe because Murph was up on the podium and i was there to see it) even thought i was burnt to a crisp after spending Saturday at the top of the mountain. I have to mention that the grade of policemen they had up the top of the mountain this year was A, very good lookin men... my thoughts were along the line of you can frisk me anyday mate LMAO.

it was an interesting day during our usual walk of the support category pits due to Bruce's curiosity and gift of the gab he got A machanic to shows us a bit of one of the developement series cars...was interesting to hear 2 mechanics speak 'mechanic' i know mostly what things are and vaigly what they do but i was rather engrossed in the 'techincal' side of the conversation.

Now i have to whine about the food prices $5 for chips pfffttttt money grabbers and Bruce whined all Saturday about having to drink XXXX with its pittyful 3.5% alcahol Vol lucky im a Bourbon drinker....'I LOVE JIM BEAM'. Over all the organisers should be comended for putting on a great event and not being too over the top with the do's and don'ts.

A few thing happened over the weekend that i didnt find out till after the weekend was done. First of all i would like to wish Paul Radisich a speedy recovery from the serious injuries he suffered in a crash earlier in the weekend some of which he originally suffered in a sickening crash at the 2006 Bathurst 1000, I hope he is able to get back behind the wheel again in the future or be involved with the sport in some way.

I would like to voice my opinion on the Chris Pither/Paul Weel crash there has been alot of debate about this and the hammer has fallen by 'the powers that be' AKA CAMS, Chris Pither has been fine $6,000 and $3,000 suspended till the end of the year.... I do believe he should be punished, some will disagree with me. but after Mark Porter's death i have a zero tolerance view on these sort of accidents, by his own admission he saw the yellow flag 100 meters before the impact. and Brad Jones was able to miss Paul Weel's car by a long shot. I have posted A video below I think it captures the serverity of the crash better than the tv footage and shows how lucky Paul Weel was not to come out more worse of than a few days in hospital.

I would like to voice my disgust at one of the directors from electrical testing company Tex Onsite,Click Here to read the Story. He should be ban from all V8supercar events for life. Michael Patrizi should be proud that he finished his first Bathurst 1000 in 17th place instead of in the wall like alot of other rookies and what this arsehole did to him was uncalled for and an assult who cares if the company he is a directer of is a sponsor..... I hope Tex Onsite fire him....let him suffer for his actions.

Lastly bring on 2009 Bathurst 1000
