Lindy with Jon teaching went well. We covered two moves. I was in the groove more than out of it for that part of the night. And a planning session for next year was fun too. One week left there. Thanks for the time before the club meeting. I have the Charleston moves I can now practice work out to at home. wHICH i DID NOT HAVE BEFORE Gotta love caps lock. :)And all experience with swing builds on the previous knowledge and"psychomotor skills development" that go with the knowledge - as the Nursing School used to put it - will no doubt add to my future success in Swing Dance. :)
Also with Max and Alice there was an unpredictability in their moves - like when she grabs his leg and we might expect what we are seeing in the others and then they go a different way than I was expecting with it.
On 2006 Todd And Frieda the first couple were great. There was also something about Max and Alice the third couple which I was seeing more. Not in complexity or physicality of tosses. With Max and Alice there seemed a flawlessness in what they did. They were very together - tuned into one another so that they did what they did together better than the others did what they did together. Todd and Frieda did well the first time out. I love the idea of using a kick to create a wide base. But there is a slight hickup in their timing near the end. Her feet hit the ground as she flips over his back and there is a pause before the next part is initiated where he pulls her through. With Max and Alice the only pause is the dramatic flair of well executed moves.
About 2008. Yes I know it is their show not mine. But I liked it well lit and precicely executed. Years past were more of a show that way. But I also wonder if this is a shift in the way Lindy is going to go for them or just a unique year for lighting conditions. I would like to see 2008 on the projector screen in Riley and review it bit by bit with you some time.
