Once Upon A Time

Once upon a time, isn’t that how it starts?
A new love is kindled between two lonely hearts.

It begins by chance, then with a smile.
Comes a flutter of heartbeats, making the moments worthwhile.

True love is so powerful, with an inescapable embrace.
A magical experience, as a new enchantment takes place.

The whole world disappears, as the attraction grows stronger.
The only question now is simply "how much longer".


Because the feelings never lie, even if everything went wrong.
You begin to wonder, why it died for so long.

Dreams were destroyed, and lives were left a mess.
Both of them now, left alone and settled for less.

The laws of attraction were now left broken
And hearts remain aching even when no more harsh words are spoken

No one understands why it is that love must equal pain
There is everything to lose and oh so much to gain

Once upon a time, wasn’t that how it started?
Those new loves were shattered, and left both broken-hearted.
