Interests
I Like listening to Music, Reading and watching Movies etc. I grew up near Hida, Gifu prefecture, in Japan, and studied Aikido [Family tradition, and still practice that, although I no longer teach the Art. I Speak Gaelic (Irish), and Japanese, as well as English, and (as I have family both in Japan, and Connemara, Galway), I use those regularly.
I am Catholic, and [quite] religious, but am tolerant of other Faiths, (or lack of), and do not push MY beliefs on others. I like walking, Cycling and swimming, as often as possible. Also Photography, Modelmaking and Gaming (Table-top/Wargaming,..NOT Gambling!), and also play Computer Games, although not Online ones. I also write a bit, (Poetry, and stories), although I will deny that in Court! [LOL]
There is a LOT more of course, as far as Hobbies and interests are concerned, not to mention OTHER areas, lol ..But I am NOT writing a BOOK.[Here, anyways.]
Music
READING: I read a lot. Both in the fiction, and Factual areas. I Like Science Fiction and Fantasy, in particular. Favorite Authors,include: - TERRY PRATCHETT ["Discworld" Series], - JRR TOLKIEN ["Lord of the Rings" Trilogy,and others], - FRANK HERBERT ["Dune" series], and HARRY HARRISON ["The Stainless Steel Rat" series]. Also Jame's Clavell's "Shogun", among others. I Like Reference books,and Material,as well. History/Ancient Cultures, Astronomy, and other areas of Study. I am well versed in Folklore,(mainly Irish/European/Asian [Japanese], and have a 'Post Graduate qualification, in "Comparative Belief Systems" (Folklore, Myth and Legend), and still study on occasion.
MUSIC: My Favorite Artists are: MIKE OLDFIELD,(Prog Rock), - ENYA, (Folk & Movie),- VANGELIS,(Instrumental), - and EMIKO SHIRATORI (Japanese Folk & Soundtrack). I like Classical Music (Strauss, Handel, Mozart,etc), and Soundtrack Compositions, from Movies, Games etc, and Other Genres.
Movies
MOVIES & TV: I Love Fantasy and Science Fiction Movies. "Lord of the Rings", and "The Hobbit", trilogies, - "Babylon 5", "Star Trek" [mainly "DS9","Voyager",and "Enterprise"], "Stargate" & "Stargate Atlantis", - and some older series: "Doctor Who", "Space 1999", and "Blakes 7", etc - Actually, just about any SCi-Fi or Fantasy Movie,lol.
I Also like Comedy Movies, particularly older (B/W)ones, and my favourite is "Arsenic,and Old Lace", although I also like Marx Brothers, Bob Hope/Bing Crosby Movies, and Jerry Lewis, and others, like "Some Like it Hot", etc. I Like more 'modern' Comedy, as well... Mel Brooks Movies, and others.. "Young Frankenstein", and the "Spoof" style of movie, like "Scary Movie", "Epic Movie" etc.
Idols
IDOLS: Sir Stephen Hawking,would be my primary one... although I DO have a lot of respect for other 'Famous' people : Sir Patrick Moore (Astronomer), and others. I have also "idols", of a more personal Nature... My Grandmother, Parents, and "Nana San" (My Guardian, whilst in Japan.
Video Games
COMPUTER GAMES: My favorite computer games, include: "ELDER SCROLLS" Games ("Morrowind","Oblivion","Skyrim",etc), - "FINAL FANTASY" (All of them), "FARCRY" (1-5), "FALLOUT", "SILENT HILL", and "RESIDENT EVIL" (All). My Favorite Genre (Type), of Game, (if you Can't Guess, lol), is RPG's (particularly "Open World",Style), although I do like Adventure, FPS,("Call of Duty"), and Strategy Games (Comand & Conquer,etc),as Well.
I also design stuff (Maps, Buildings, Dungeons, etc), for my family's, favpurite Games, on occassion... usually for Elder Scrolls, Fallout, or the like. Also I Collect, and play Warhammer, and Warhammer 40K, Models, and Computer Games, and have been known to Get my @$$ kicked by far younger players at some Tournaments! LOL ("Sheesh! - Kids Today", Huh?)
