My idol died on feb 18 2001 on the last lap of the Daytona 500. His owned cars finish 1 and 2 that day with his son in the 2nd position, he would have finish 3rd that day but instead for the first time ever he drove defensively trying to hold off the other 40 drivers. Gods speed Dale! I shed a tear every time I think of this man. The #3, the black Chevrolet will stay with me forever!!! As the whole car is tattooed on my stomach. Don't mind saying I cried for two days after I heard what happened. I truly miss this giant! NASCAR is just not the same anymore.
