well 10 years ago my life changed drasticaly....my son was born. Now normaly this would be a happy day, but for me it was scary. you see as soon as I gave birth to My son, they rushed him to the neo-natal intensive care unit. I was not told anything but he still had fluid in his lungs. I did not see him until the next day. I did not even get to hold him that day he was born. The next day I was able to, but he had leads and lines attatched to him. This was also the day I knew something was wrong with him. When babies spit up, it is usualy just a little bit, well James could hit something two feet away. The nurses told me it was normal and that it would get better. It didn't. He was losing weight, and sleeping 23 hours a day. The homecare nurse came and I showed her what he was doing. She assured me that it was not normal. We ended up going to the ER for something and the nurse told me it was the way I was doing things. So I passed James to her and told her to show me. Well he spit up all over her!!lol. Then all the fun started, January we had the first surgery, then back in the hospital in march to re-do the first surgery. May we went in for kidney surgery. Then back and forth for him not gaining weight. Then September off to the childrens hospital in Toronto. All this happened when I was 18.Not what I expected being a first time parent. Now my boy is 10. WOW is all I can say. What a life he has had so far( and belive me there is more I have not said)
